In 2010 something great happened to me and by chance or destiny! After all hope was lost and I found myself on the verge of the cliff, my uncle Engr. Dawood came at home.
¡En 2010 sucedió algo grandioso y por casualidad o destino! Después de perder toda esperanza y me encontré al borde del acantilado mi tío Engr. Dawood vino a casa.
He was the member of Bazm e Science Adab, situated in Gulshan e Iqbal Karachi Pakistan, founded by and at, Dr Salimuzzaman Siddiqui Science Center PASSP Club.

It was the evening of the last day of 2010 when I first attended the Bazm sitting.

That day he got an accident due to which he was not present there in the monthly sitting of Bazm e Science. He got a rod in his fractured ferum then onwards and used a helping rod in his hands to carry him during walks. But his mind was as agile and creative as ever. We met at next sitting and on the other day he searched my home and came at my place. I was astonished as I have not given my address to them. But he was used to do miracles. Bazm was also a miracle as it went on through decades without any budget or income!! He was really humble just like my father who resembled him alot and was also an Alig!
Ese día tuvo un accidente por el cual no estuvo presente en la sesión mensual o en Bazm e Science. Recibió una caña en su ferum fracturado y luego en adelante y usó una caña de ayuda en sus manos para llevarlo durante las caminatas. Pero su mente era tan ágil y creativa como siempre. Nos encontramos en la próxima sesión y el otro día buscó en mi casa y vino a mi casa. Me sorprendió ya que no les he dado mi dirección. Pero estaba acostumbrado a hacer milagros. ¡Bazm también fue un milagro, ya que pasó décadas sin ningún presupuesto o ingreso! ¡Era realmente humilde como mi padre, que se parecía mucho a él y también era un Alig!
He could detect a gem inside of the stones or mud and he detected my hidden talents. He said my poetry needs a purpose مقصدیت! And that should be promotion of scientific literature as well as in Urdu language and to make it very easy and understandable by everyone from Kashmir to Karachi! My rich flowery language haunted him which he quoted as Jinnati zabaan, Heavenly language i.e. monstrous language with all the Shakespearean touch and idioms and phrases which he called Mir Aman’s language. Mir Aman was an eitheenth century genius with richest Urdu!
Podía detectar una gema dentro de las piedras o el barro y detectó mis talentos ocultos. Dijo que mi poesía necesita un propósito ¡مقصدیت! ¡Y eso debería ser la promoción de la literatura científica, así como en idioma urdu y hacer que sea muy fácil y comprensible para todos, desde Cachemira hasta Karachi! Mi rico lenguaje florido lo perseguía y lo citó como Jinnati zabaan, lenguaje celestial, es decir, lenguaje monstruoso con todo el toque de Shakespeare, modismos y frases que llamó el idioma de Mir Aman. ¡Mir Aman era un genio del siglo XIII con el urdu más rico!
style is very classy and I bend myself to give respect to elders like the Chinese do!! He used to mimick my style and laughed. He was very pleasant and had a great sense of humor and a fresh banter. Just like my father’s his smiling face used to lighten up the atmosphere and souls of the surrounding people. He never sits on stage except at the end of the gathering he was invited to preside over and his concluding speech was ever eye opening and inspiring! Otherwise he was managing things as well as serving tea and snack boxes to the participants, even arranged tables and chairs in orderly fashion etc. We can never imagine a president of any club so humble. But I have been used to it in our home as my father and uncles were also of the same breed who helped everyone and cared for entire creations of God.
¡Él también se divirtió mucho con mis etiquetas de Decdera de Hyderabad, especialmente cuando le digo a Salam que mi estilo es muy elegante y me inclino para respetar a los ancianos como lo hacen los chinos! Solía imitar mi estilo y se reía. Era muy agradable y tenía un gran sentido del humor y una nueva broma. Al igual que la de mi padre, su rostro sonriente solía iluminar la atmósfera y las almas de las personas de los alrededores. ¡Nunca se sienta en el escenario, excepto al final de la reunión a la que fue invitado a presidir y su discurso final fue siempre revelador e inspirador! De lo contrario, estaba manejando las cosas y sirviendo té y cajas de bocadillos a los participantes, incluso organizó mesas y sillas de manera ordenada, etc. Nunca podemos imaginar a un presidente de un club tan humilde. Pero ya estaba acostumbrado en nuestra casa ya que mi padre y mis tíos también eran de la misma raza que ayudaba a todos y cuidaba creaciones enteras de Dios.
My mother herself being a science scholar, always wanted me to join the Science club.
Mi madre, que era académica de ciencias, siempre quiso que me uniera al club de ciencias.
He used to come to my place and I used to visit the club even when there was no sitting but he was also there. Science was his life and oxygen for him. He was busy fueling everyone’s mind for scientific thinking and knowledge. Research papers books were everywhere around in the library and on tables books and magazines from different scientific organizations, local and from worldwide.

From Dune in 1962 till today there’s a flood of science fiction novels and films.

In Pakistan Ibnesafi was the pioneer of Scientific and detective novels. Ishtiaq Ahmed and Mazhar Kaleem followed suit. Now there is much popularity of this genre here.

We used to argue about scientific literature and were busy researching and innovating. There I wrote my scientific short story or Afsana named Mustaqbil Ki Awaz.

It was on Mach 3 the hybrid car with speed more than the speed of sound! It was an instant hit and got published in many scientific magazines after I presented it in the Bazm sitting in front of the honorable members and scientific scholors like late Dr Waqar Ahmed Zuberi , Dr Zafar Muhammad khan Zafar of SUPARCO, Dr Aijaz Haider ( now in Boston) president of State Bank, Dr Sohail Zaki, Dr Mubeen Akhtar: founder and president of Karachi Psychiatric Hospital and Tehreek e Nazar e Urdu, Dr Naeem Ali Khan, Aleem Ahmed – editor Global Science magazine, Shaheen Habib: editor of scientific magazine Nazm e Kainaat,, Dr Nuzhat Abbasi, Dr Ali Zafar Khan Afridi, etc.

Azmat saheb didn’t have much time left and he passed away after a year or two but ignited the fire of scientific research in the heart and hearts of millions all over the country and the world.

My uncle Dawood’s father in law named Wali Hashmi was also considered to be Father of Scientific poetry in Urdu. His two poetry collections were the first and the still the Marvel’s of scientific poetry, named as :

Mr Azmat abhorred publicity and no cameras or press reporting were allowed in the Bazm, although science journalists were also its members. But in his last days Jung magazines editor insisted on publishing his interview in Jang newspaper. He immediately called me and said today’s your interview. I got excited and dressed in blue silk and looked beautiful. But nobody came. He had sent his sub editor Adnan Raza who could not make it. But anyhow he published an article about Dr Azmat Ali Khan afterwards, in which one paragraph consisted of my insight upon this great legendary icon.
Azmat aborrecía la publicidad y no se permitían cámaras ni informes de prensa en el Bazm, aunque los periodistas científicos también eran sus miembros. Pero en sus últimos días el editor de revistas Jung insistió en publicar su entrevista en el periódico Jang. Inmediatamente me llamó y dijo que hoy es tu entrevista. Me emocioné, me vestí de seda azul y me veía hermosa. Pero nadie vino. Había enviado a su subeditor Adnan Raza que no pudo hacerlo. Pero de todos modos, publicó un artículo sobre el Dr. Azmat Ali Khan después, en el que un párrafo consistía en mi visión sobre este gran ícono legendario.
In 1954 Dr Azmat migrated to Pakistan after graduating from Aligarh University, in three fields Chemistry, geography and Geology and was appointed as the instructor of chemistry in Urdu college Karachi. He also started doing Masters in chemistry from Karachi University. But in Urdu college, it was necessary for all teachers to take 24 periods which was difficult for him to attend because of his own Masters. So he recommended to establish the department of Geology in Urdu college. Hence the department of Geology was established in Urdu college before it was in the university of Karachi! After sometime he joined PCSIR founded by Dr Salimuzzaman Siddiqui.
En 1954, el Dr. Azmat emigró a Pakistán después de graduarse en tres campos de geografía, química y geología, y fue nombrado instructor de química en la universidad urdu de Karachi. También comenzó a hacer Maestría en química de la Universidad de Karachi. Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) was established in 1953 under Societies Act to promote the cause of Science and Technology in Karachi. On the order of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, PCSIR started scientific research journals in three languages i.e. English Urdu and Bangali. Dr Azmat Ali was the editor of the Urdu journal named Karwan e science. He was already publishing another magazine named Jadeed science ( New science)! Dr Azmat Ali made it a surprising success and very popular for decades. It’s copies were still saved in his office of Bazm e Science Adab ..
El Consejo de Investigación Científica e Industrial de Pakistán (PCSIR) se estableció en 1953 en virtud de la Ley de Sociedades para promover la causa de la Ciencia y la Tecnología en Karachi. Por orden de Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, PCSIR comenzó revistas de investigación científica en tres idiomas, es decir, inglés urdu y bangali. Then it became the victim of beurocracy and red tape in 1973. At the same time when it got closed there started similar scientific magazine in India named Alam e science ( science world) which is still quenching the thirst for scientific knowledge

It was firstly bi monthly. Azmat saheb made it a monthly magazine. After it he joined the Journal of the college of physicians and seargeons Pakistan. This journal was awarded as the Impact factor from the international institute of scientific information. This honor is only awarded to very few.
En primer lugar, era bimensual. Azmat Saheb lo convirtió en una revista mensual. Después de eso, se unió al Journal of the college of medical and searchgeons Pakistan. Azmat Ali Khan said: P.M. Liaqat Ali Khan was the first to realize the importance of Scientific education in Pakistan. He asked Indian PM Jawahal Lal Nehru the services of Dr Salimuzzaman Siddiqui for Pakistan. Because after partition Pakistan got very few scientific educational institutions, just like it got least shares in all areas. Dr Salimuzzaman Siddiqui us another mastermind who need to be discussed in another article or books.
Azmat Ali Khan dijo: PM. Liaqat Ali Khan fue el primero en darse cuenta de la importancia de la educación científica en Pakistán. Pidió al primer ministro indio Jawahal Lal Nehru los servicios del Dr. Salimuzzaman Siddiqui para Pakistán. Porque después de la partición, Pakistán obtuvo muy pocas instituciones educativas científicas, al igual que obtuvo menos acciones en todas las áreas. El Dr. Salimuzzaman Siddiqui es otro autor intelectual que necesita ser discutido en otro artículo o libros.
He founded PASSP i.e. Dr Salimuzzaman research institute. Dr Azmat Ali started Bazm e Science Adab which was the nebula of scientific literature and Scientific scholors in Pakistan. Hundreds of people became science writers and Scientific poets by just joining the Bazm sittings and mushairaahs, which happens bimonthlyon every alternate Sundays and Bazm is on the last Saturdays of ever month. In his life it was organized regularly without a gap no matter what!
Fundó PASSP, es decir, el instituto de investigación Dr. Salimuzzaman. El Dr. Azmat Ali comenzó Bazm e Science Adab, que era la nebulosa de la literatura científica y los estudios científicos en Pakistán. His son told that Azmat Ali used to stand at the bedside of his ailing mother with drips in his own hands rather than on drip stand and remain awake whole nights. He loved his wife a lot and lost his heart after her death. His beloved daughter told us. He was a fatherly figure for all the members of the organization.
Su hijo le dijo que Azmat Ali solía pararse al lado de la cama de su madre enferma con goteos en sus propias manos en lugar de estar en el puesto de goteo y permanecer despierto noches enteras. Amaba mucho a su esposa y perdió su corazón después de su muerte. Nos dijo su amada hija. Era una figura paterna para todos los miembros de la organización.
His son is a mechanical engineer from NED University in Karachi and has a double US master’s degree from USA and her daughter-in-law is an IBA MBA, former CEO of Forum, Clifton, Karachi. A beautiful couple.
Su hijo es ingeniero mecánico de la Universidad NED de Karachi y tiene doble maestría de EE. UU. y su nuera es MBA de IBA, ex CEO de Forum, Clifton, Karachi. Una hermosa pareja.
