El Premio Goncourt en el extranjero inició sus pasos en 1998 a iniciativa del Instituto Francés de Cracovia. En esta séptima edición la elección ha sido realizada mediante votación de alumnos representantes de diferentes universidades, que este año 2024 han sido la Autónoma de Madrid, la Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona, La Laguna, Valladolid y Oviedo, reunidos en un jurado que ha estado presidido en esta séptima edición por el escritor Pablo Martín Sánchez, que han deliberado y proclamado la elección en la sede del Instituto Francés de Madrid.

Nació en el suburbio parisino de Saint-Germain-en-Laye en 1971. Durante veinte años trabajó como guionista y director en Francia y Estados Unidos. Está convencido de que, al igual que una película, una novela es ante todo una historia. Su novela premiada, Cuidar de ella,  es la cuarta que publica. En España, además del Goncourt ha sido galardonada con el Premio FNAC.

He was born in the Paris suburb of Saint-Germain-en-Laye in 1971. For twenty years he worked as a screenwriter and director in France and the United States. He is convinced that, like a film, a novel is above all a story. Her award-winning novel, Cuidar de ella, is the fourth she has published.
