INDIA: CELEBRATED INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY with POEMS

Indo Hispanic Language Academy de Calcuta, India, dirigido por el Dr. D. Dibyajyoti Mukhopadhyay quien es además, Director General de La Agencia Mundial de Prensa India, celebró una velada cultural indo-hispana en conmemoración del Día Internacional de la Mujer el pasado domingo 10 de Marzo.

Indo Hispanic Language Academy of Calcutta, India, directed by Dr. D. Dibyajyoti Mukhopadhyay who is also the Director General of the Indian World Press Agency, held an Indo-Hispanic cultural evening in commemoration of International Women’s Day last Sunday March 10th.

Entre los invitados especiales se encontraban el embajador de Guatemala, Sr. Omar Castañeda Solares; el ex gobernador de Bengala Occidental y presidente de la Federation Hall Society, Sr. Shyamal Kumer Sen; el presidente de la Academia de la Poesía de Bengala Occidental, Sr. Subodh Sarkar.

Among the special guests were the ambassador of Guatemala, Mr. Omar Castañeda Solares; former Governor of West Bengal and President of Federation Hall Society, Mr. Shyamal Kumer Sen; the president of the West Bengal Poetry Academy, Mr. Subodh Sarkar.

Así mismo, destacó la participación virtual de la Periodista y Escritora María Piña Gerente Continental de Europa de La Agencia Mundial de Prensa (APCSX GROUP) y Consejera Delegada Global de la Mujer quien en esta oportunidad fuera invitada en calidad de Poeta Hispana para dicha festividad y para quien la joven Madhurima Das, estudiante de español y traductora fue quien tuvo el honor de traducir el mensaje de la poeta a todos los presentes. Además, cabe resaltar que los alumnos del Indo Hispanic, Arijitt Gaanguly y Suparna Mukherjee, fueron quienes se encargaron de recitar los poemas de la poeta, en español.

Likewise, the virtual participation of the Journalist and Writer María Piña, Continental Manager of Europe of the World Press Agency (APCSX GROUP) and Global CEO of Women, stood out, who on this occasion was invited as Hispanic Poet for said festivity and for whom the young Madhurima Das, a Spanish student and translator, was the one who had the honor of translating the poet’s message to all those present. In addition, it should be noted that the students of Indo Hispanic, Arijitt Gaanguly and Suparna Mukherjee, were in charge of reciting the poet’s poems, in Spanish.

Este evento especial por el 8M incluyó la lectura de los poemas de la poetisa dominicana junto a los de la reconocida poeta bengalí Mallika Sengupta, así como también un poema de la Premio Nobel de Guatemala la Sra. Rigoberta Menchú que fue recitado por Suparna Hazra y Tanusree Kar en español y bengalí y traducido por Anirban Chattopadhyay.

This special event for 8M included the reading of the Dominican poet’s poems along with those of the renowned Bengali poet Mallika Sengupta, as well as a poem by the Guatemalan Nobel Laureate Ms. Rigoberta Menchú that was recited by Suparna Hazra and Tanusree Kar in Spanish and Bengali and translated by Anirban Chattopadhyay.

Durante la velada, también se realizaron diversas actividades y presentaciones artísticas que destacaron la importancia de la mujer en la sociedad y promovieron la igualdad de género. La misma concluyó con las canciones en español de Kabir
Chattopadhyay. El programa fue dirigido por Madhumita Chattopadhyay.

During the evening, various activities and artistic presentations were also held that highlighted the importance of women in society and promoted gender equality. It concluded with Kabir’s songs in Spanish Chattopadhyay. The show was directed by Madhumita Chattopadhyay.
