Si le buscamos la parte buena a la ignorancia, se podría decir que impulsa a que nos consagremos a la sabiduría, porque es la motivación para querer aprender.

Alguna vez, ejerciendo como juez de mi República de Colombia, un testigo dijo una frase que me llamó mucho la atención:

Once, while serving as a judge in my Republic of Colombia, a witness uttered a phrase that struck me deeply:

«Soy un testigo que no sé lo que debo testimoniar y estoy aquí porque me dijeron que yo presencié la situación que hoy nos reúne.

«I am a witness who does not know what I am supposed to testify about, and I am here because I was told I had witnessed the situation that brings us together today.

Pero yo solo puedo decir que haber mirado no me permitió haber visto, por lo que no tengo nada que decir; ignoro lo que ha ocurrido».

But I can only say that having looked did not mean I truly saw; therefore, I have nothing to say. I do not know what happened.»

Esa ignorancia estuvo acompañada de su inteligencia innata, que reflejaba humildad y honradez. Al mismo tiempo, fue muy previsor ante las consecuencias de un testimonio falso.
