COLOMBIA: DAMAGE TO SANTA MARTA «ESSMAR INTENDS TO CONTRACT SOFTWARE FOR MORE THAN $19 billion
El pasado 21 de noviembre de 2021 la Empresa de Servicios Públicos del Distrito de Santa Marta (Essmar) fue intervenida, acción calificada por la administración distrital y departamental como injusta. A partir de entonces, la compañía ha carecido de calidad en su gestión, ya que han sido muchas las quejas presentadas por la comunidad samaria, además que ha sido evidente la falta de planificación de quién hoy tiene al mando mencionada empresa.

«La cereza que le faltaba al pastel» la dio a conocer la alcaldesa Virna Johnson a través de su cuenta de Twitter, en la que la mandataria advirtió al Gobierno Nacional sobre las acciones irregulares que está tomando la agente interventora. Según explicó, la Essmar pretende contratar durante el periodo de 3 años un software, este integraría las áreas administrativas, financieras y comerciales, lo indignante es el costo del mismo el cual supera los $19 mil millones, afectando por supuesto la economía de la comunidad samaria.

«Alertamos al Gobierno Nacional sobre estas decisiones apresuradas de la agente interventora» advirtió Johnson.
Sin embargo, esta es solo «una jugadita» mas de la agente interventora de la Essmar. En el pasado mes de marzo la mandataria de los samarios denunció el alquiler de un parque automotor representado en 17 camionetas, por un valor de más de $1.200 millones, beneficiando solo a algunos trabajadores y directivos de la empresa mientras la población samaria continua padeciendo por la falta del suministro de agua en la ciudad.

Mientras tanto el pueblo samario enfurecido por los abusos de la Essmar salió a las calles a protestar, todo debido al desabastecimiento de agua. El pasado 24 de marzo del año en curso, habitantes de los sectores afectados se reunieron con la encargada de la empresa Yahaira Díaz Quesada, quien se mostró tajante ante esta situación.

Sumado a todo lo anterior desde el primer momento de la intervención de la Superservicios fue evidente la mala gestión de la misma y los efectos que quería comenzar a generar en Santa Marta. Desde el pasado 22 de noviembre cuando se produjo dicha intervención la empresa suspendió las diferentes actividades que venia realizando con las entidades Edus y Setp, como parte de la iniciativa «Esmmar al barrio», la cual tenía como meta llegar a 33 barrios de la ciudad.
