Nunca ha consistido en ocupar el lugar más importante. Consiste en hacer sentir importantes a los demás. Por eso, los Grand Awards no proclaman ganadores. Proclaman Laureados.

It has never been about occupying the most important place. It is about making others feel important. That is why the Grand Awards do not proclaim winners. They proclaim Laureates.

Ser Laureado con la Distinción Internacional Hombre del Año o Mujer del Año no significa haber llegado antes que otros. No significa haber derrotado a otros candidatos. No significa haber acumulado más títulos, más poder o mayor notoriedad.

Being named Man of the Year or Woman of the Year—an international distinction—does not mean having arrived ahead of others. It does not mean having defeated other candidates. It does not mean having amassed more titles, more power, or greater notoriety.

Significa que un Comité Internacional ha reconocido en una trayectoria humana un ejemplo excepcional de integridad, liderazgo, servicio, excelencia y compromiso con el bien común.

It means that an international committee has recognized an exceptional example of integrity, leadership, service, excellence, and commitment to the common good in a person’s life and career.

Significa que una vida ha trascendido el éxito personal para convertirse en inspiración para los demás. Porque los Grand Awards no distinguen únicamente logros. Distinguen valores.

It means a life has transcended personal success to become an inspiration to others. Because the Grand Awards do not merely distinguish achievements. They distinguish values.

A legacy that transcends time

Los nombres cambiarán con los años. Los países representados también. Las generaciones se sucederán.

The names will change over the years. The countries represented, too. Generations will follow one another.

Pero hay algo que jamás cambiará mientras existan los Grand Awards «Premios a los nuestros» y es que…

But there is one thing that will never change as long as the «Premios a los nuestros» Grand Awards exist, and that is…

• No reconoceremos el poder por el poder. We will not recognize power for power’s sake.
• No premiaremos la fama por la fama. We will not reward fame for fame’s sake.
• No buscaremos vencedores. We will not seek victors.

Buscaremos vidas que inspiren. Porque el éxito puede medirse por lo que una persona consigue.

We will seek out lives that inspire. For success can be measured by what a person achieves.

Pero el verdadero legado solo puede medirse por el bien que deja en la vida de los demás.

But true legacy can only be measured by the good one leaves in the lives of others.
