Ha sido dicho hasta el cansancio, y aun hoy se repite aunque como un eco que se aleja y se aleja, que un futuro plausible para el país no será posible sin consensos políticos, entre gobierno y oposición, para la creación de las llamadas “políticas de Estado”, esas que se construyen para ser mantenidas en el tiempo, más allá de quien, ahora o después, ostente la responsabilidad de representar al Poder Ejecutivo a través de la presidencia de la República.

El nivel de confrontación entre quienes gobiernan y quienes están en la oposición se acerca a lo apocalíptico. Al menos los discursos y actitudes públicas, hacen que surquen el aire vientos arrastrando agravios, cinismos, mentiras y una suerte de patoterismo militante que desorienta a la ciudadanía y la inflama del virus del fanatismo empujándola al fango de los dogmas y la dilución de la benevolencia.

The level of confrontation between those who govern and those who are in opposition is close to the apocalyptic. At least the speeches and public attitudes, make winds cross the air dragging grievances, cynicism, lies and a kind of militant patoterism that disorients citizens and inflames them with the virus of fanaticism, pushing them into the mire of dogmas and the dilution of benevolence .

Hay un vocablo latino con el que se designaba un miembro superior del Colegio de Sacerdotes de Roma: pontifex, o constructor de puentes. Al frente de ese Colegio estaba el pontifex maximus, que en la antigua lengua prelatina significaba “el que ejecuta sacrificios propiciatorios”. Fuera del ámbito religioso, donde pontifex representa el “constructor de un puente entre la Tierra y el Cielo”, la idea que filosófica y moralmente sostiene su función sería muy provechosa aplicándola, aquí y ahora, en nuestro laico y erizado ámbito político.
