Let me tell you a story: Pablito and Chamucas

En un lugar del tiempo donde todo puede suceder, nuestro pequeño Pablito pudo vencer al miedo que él tenía al amanecer. El chamucas era un ser incomodo que vivía en los miedos de los niños pequeños. . .

In a place in time where anything can happen, our little Pablito was able to overcome the fear he had at dawn. The chamucas was an uncomfortable being who lived in the fears of small children. . .

Y más cuando estaban enfrentando pequeños cambios, como el control de los charquitos de aquí y de allá – je, je, je – pequeños accidentes que tenían que pasar. Estaba creciendo Pablito, nuestro pequeño que muchas ganas tenia ya de ir por primera vez a la escuela.

Pablito se le nublaba su mirada al saber que su preciosa madrecita como siempre lo comprendía. Pablito tu tienes que vencer a ese miedo, el chamucas ¡Que feo ser! Eres más inteligente que él, solo tú te tienes que concentrar y poner todo tu esfuerzo y paciencia en cuanto sientas que va a salir el charquito. . . ¡Tranquilo amorcito! Para un poco y ve sin miedo al baño y veraz que en un par de días al chamucas vencerás.

Pablito’s eyes clouded knowing that his beautiful mother, as always, understood him. Pablito, you have to overcome that fear, the chamucas. How ugly you are! Pablito le dijo, esta muy bien mamita. . . y antes de dormir Pablito se decía así ¡Tu puedes Pablito! Tienes que vencer al chamucas que te hace mojar la cama ¡Tu puedes Pablito! Controlar esos charquitos y al chamucas retirar y todas las noches se lo repetía una o dos o tres veces. Pablito tenia toda la actitud de al ¡Chamucas vencer! Y un día a la escuela ir para aprender.

Pablito told her, «It’s very good, mommy.» . . and before going to sleep Pablito said to himself: You can do it Pablito! You have to beat the chamucas that makes you wet the bed. You can do it Pablito! Control those little puddles and remove the chamucas and repeat it one or two or three times every night. Pablito had all the attitude of Chamucas winning! And one day go to school to learn.

Por fin la noche llegó ¡Tranquilo Pablito! ¡El chamucas ya me enfadó! Y hablo con gran fuerza y determinación, y antes de acostarse al baño visito durante algunas noches. ¡Por fin! Hasta que su cama sin charquitos amaneció ¡Bravo Pablito! Que bueno que venciste al chamucas y fuera de tu casa y de tu vida él quedo. . .

Finally the night arrived. Don’t worry, Pablito! The chamucas already made me angry! And I speak with great strength and determination, and before going to bed I visit the bathroom for a few nights. At last! Until his bed without puddles dawned. Bravo Pablito! It’s good that you defeated the chamucas and he was out of your house and out of your life. . .

Pablito ya va a la escuela feliz y ayuda a muchos niños a vencer el miedo de los charquitos y alejar al chamucas, para que nunca vuelva a regresar.

Pablito now goes to school happily and helps many children overcome the fear of puddles and keep away the chamucas, so that they never return.
