Hotel Ilunion Pío XII de Madrid fue el escenario de los esperados Premios Europa 2025,
celebrados desde las 20:00 horas el pasado 11 de abril. La gala, que reunió a figuras destacadas del arte, la cultura y la sociedad, tuvo como una de sus protagonistas más destacadas a Kayla
Casanova, quien recibió el Premio a la Excelencia por su sobresaliente labor como activista
LGTBIQ+ y escritora.

Madrid — On a night filled with emotion and recognition, the Ilunion Pío XII Hotel in Madrid hosted the highly anticipated Europa Awards 2025, held at 8:00 p.m. on April 11. One of the highlights of the gala, which brought together leading figures in the arts, culture, and society, was Kayla Casanova, who received the Excellence Award for her outstanding work as an LGBTQ+ activist and writer.

Casanova, una figura polifacética que ha dejado huella en múltiples disciplinas, es escritora,
directora artística, actriz, emprendedora, fotomodelo, activista y exbailarina y coreógrafa. Su
voz ha sido clave en la visibilización del colectivo trans y LGTBIQ+ tanto en España como
internacionalmente.

Casanova, a multifaceted figure who has left her mark in multiple disciplines, is a writer, artistic director, actress, entrepreneur, photomodel, activist, and former dancer and choreographer. Her voice has been key in raising awareness of the trans and LGBTQ+ community both in Spain and internationally.

Autora de los libros Tierra Amarga y Tierra Feliz, Kayla relata en estas obras su
conmovedora historia personal, desde su infancia en Italia hasta su llegada a Gran Canaria,
donde encontró el amor y una nueva vida. Su primer libro fue presentado en el prestigioso
programa cultural del Maspalomas Pride by Freedom, con gran acogida del público y la
crítica.

Author of the books Tierra Amarga and Tierra Feliz, Kayla tells her moving personal story in these works, from her childhood in Italy to her arrival in Gran Canaria, where she found love and a new life. Her first book was presented at the prestigious Maspalomas Pride for Freedom cultural program, to widespread public and critical acclaim.

Con apenas 16 años, abandonó su ciudad natal en Italia y ha residido en Gran Canaria
durante más de 25 años. Actualmente, domina siete idiomas y ha representado a Las
Palmas en el Certamen Miss Trans España 2023, donde fue galardonada como Miss
Activista LGTBIQ+ y Miss Trans Gold.

At just 16 years old, she left her hometown in Italy and has lived in Gran Canaria for over 25 years. She is currently fluent in seven languages ​​and represented Las Palmas in the Miss Trans Spain 2023 pageant, where she was awarded Miss LGBTQ+ Activist and Miss Trans Gold.

Además, forma parte del elenco del documental Transparentes, una producción que aborda
la realidad trans en España y que se estrenará próximamente en Netflix.
La entrega de este reconocimiento a Kayla Casanova no solo resalta su carrera profesional
y artística, sino también su compromiso firme y valiente con los derechos humanos, la
diversidad y la inclusión. Sin duda, una noche inolvidable para celebrar la excelencia en su
forma más inspiradora.
