The Devil’s Strategies: Distraction as a Silent Weapon

En un contexto global marcado por la sobrecarga informativa, la hiper conectividad y la aceleración constante de la vida cotidiana, la distracción emerge como uno de los principales factores de erosión de la conciencia individual, los valores familiares y la vida espiritual. Este editorial, escrito hace años y plenamente vigente en la actualidad, recurre a una metáfora simbólica para advertir sobre cómo el tiempo, la atención y la voluntad del ser humano son progresivamente desplazados de lo esencial.

In a global context marked by information overload, hyper-connectivity, and the constant acceleration of everyday life, distraction emerges as one of the main factors eroding individual consciousness, family values, and spiritual life. This editorial, written years ago and fully relevant today, draws on a symbolic metaphor to warn about how human time, attention, and will are progressively displaced from what is essential.

Satanás, más conocido en el mundo como “el Diablo”, convocó una convención mundial de demonios y, en su discurso de apertura, dijo lo siguiente:

Tiéntenlos a gastar, gastar y gastar.
Persuadan a las esposas para que trabajen largas horas y a los esposos para que trabajen de seis a siete días a la semana, de diez a doce horas diarias, hasta que queden agotados y con los bolsillos vacíos.

Tempt them to spend, spend, and spend. Persuade the wives to work long hours and the husbands to work six to seven days a week, ten to twelve hours a day, until they are exhausted and with empty pockets.

Keep the television and blaring sound systems constantly on in their homes, and make degrading music with obscene lyrics play permanently in their world.

Llenen las mesas de centro con revistas y periódicos.

Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers.

Bombardeen sus mentes con noticias las 24 horas del día.

Bombard their minds with news 24 hours a day.

Inunden su correo con basura, catálogos, rifas, servicios y falsas esperanzas.

Flood their mail with junk, catalogs, raffles, services, and false hopes.

Pongan modelos bellas y delgadas en revistas y televisión, para que los esposos crean que la belleza exterior es lo único que importa y se sientan insatisfechos con sus esposas.

Put beautiful, thin models in magazines and on television, so that husbands believe external beauty is all that matters and feel dissatisfied with their wives.

Mantengan a las esposas demasiado agotadas para no amar a sus esposos por las noches; ellos empezarán a buscar en otra parte rápidamente.

Keep the wives too exhausted to love their husbands at night; they will quickly start looking elsewhere.

Pronto estarán trabajando con sus propias fuerzas, sacrificando su salud y su familia “por el bien de la causa”.
