Let me tell you a story: Melissa the Pied Piper of the Sea

Algunos piensan quien es ella, una estrella fugaz que callo en el mar, otros que es hija de una sirena, que viene a la playa a tocar la flauta para gozo de las estrellas y el mar.

Aquella tarde-noche cuando salíamos del mar, y nos teníamos que ir a descansar, nos tomamos unos minutos para sentarnos en la orilla de aquella playa, para apreciar la caída del sol en el mar. Vimos pasar a una pequeña niña, muy hermosa, con su pelo suelto, que el aire jugaba con él, de aquí para allá, con la cara más dulce que he visto, con ojos color de mar, con un pequeño flautín, tocando sobre las olitas del mar, -fiu, fiu, fiu- una sintonía perfecta, -fiu, fiu, fiu- que ¡gran magia provocaba! Nos dio un sutil sueño, su bella melodía nos envolvió, entre la fresca brisa marina, ¡magia misma provocó! -fiu, fiu, fiu– su melodía el mismo viento agradeció, su sintonía en tan bella melodía que mi imaginación inspiró.

That afternoon-night when we left the sea, and had to go to rest, we took a few minutes to sit on the shore of that beach, to appreciate the sunset on the sea. It gave us a subtle dream, its beautiful melody enveloped us, among the fresh sea breeze, it caused magic itself! -fiu, fiu, fiu– the wind itself appreciated its melody, its tune in such a beautiful melody that my imagination inspired.

Nos quedamos muy quietos, entre sueño y bostezos, la magia de Melissa, la niña del flautín. Yo vi cómo gozaba la melodía que parecía que las estrellas del firmamento, en sintonía, ¡brillaban más! Y ¡se les veía bailar! Mientras ella caminaba sobre las pequeñas olas del mar.

We stayed very still, between sleep and yawning, the magic of Melissa, the girl with the piccolo. I saw how he enjoyed the melody that seemed like the stars of the firmament, in tune, shone brighter! And you could see them dancing! While she walked on the small waves of the sea.

Entonces comenzó ¡La magia magistral! En la arena empezaron a brillar estrellas marinas, cangrejos, conchitas, moluscos y demás ¡Woooow! Todos tenían vida, comenzaban suavemente a bailar, mientras de las profundidades del mar salían estéticas sirenas de ¡múltiples colores! Mientras varones tritones las cuidaban alrededor, entre moluscos y pulpos que se deleitaban con esas bellas melodías, la brisa marina susurraba el nombre de aquella pequeña niña.

Then the masterful magic began! Sea stars, crabs, shells, mollusks and more began to shine in the sand. Woooow! They all had life, they gently began to dance, while aesthetic mermaids of multiple colors emerged from the depths of the sea! While men were looking after them around them, among mollusks and octopuses that delighted in those beautiful melodies, the sea breeze whispered the name of that little girl.

¡Yo encantado estaba con lo que veía! Era un sueño, o realidad, era tan linda Melissa la flautista del mar. De repente aquel sonido tan bello cambio, y un olor raro a mí me llego -mmmmm- ¡Una gran gaviota me despertó! Y los primeros rallos del sol en la cara me dieron, que frio sentí -je, je, je-
