Cierto día, el fósforo le dijo a la vela:

One day, the match said to the candle:

• Hoy te encenderé. Today I will turn you on
• ¡Oh porfavor no! – dijo la vela – tú no te das cuenta que, si me enciendes, mis días estarán contados; no me hagas una maldad de esas. Oh please don’t! – said the candle – you don’t realize that if you light me, my days will be numbered; don’t do me such a bad thing.
• ¿Entonces tú quieres permanecer así toda tu vida? ¿Dura, fría y sin haber brillado nunca? – preguntó el fósforo. So you want to stay like this all your life? Hard, cold and never shining? – asked the match.
• ¿Pero acaso tienes que quemarme? – Eso duele y además consume todas mis fuerzas – murmuró la vela. But do you have to burn me? – That hurts and also consumes all my strength – the candle murmured.

Entonces respondió el fósforo:

Then the match replied:

• ¡Tienes toda la razón!. Pero esa es nuestra misión.
  Tú y yo fuimos hechos para ser luz y lo que yo como fósforo puedo hacer es muy poco. Mi llama es pequeña y mi tiempo es corto. Pero si te paso mi llama, habré cumplido con el propósito de mi vida; yo fui hecho justamente para eso, para comenzar el fuego. Ahora, tú eres una vela y tu misión es BRILLAR.
  Todo tu dolor y energía se transformarán en luz y calor por un buen tiempo.

Oyendo eso, la vela miró al fósforo que ya estaba en el final de su llama y le dijo:

Hearing that, the candle looked at the match that was already at the end of its flame and said:

• ¡Por favor, enciéndeme! – Y así produjo una luz

REFLEXIÓN / REFLECTION

El reloj de la vida es imprescindible.

The watch of life is a must.

Cuando un pájaro está vivo, él se come las hormigas, pero cuando muere, son las hormigas las que se lo comen a él.

When a bird is alive, it eats the ants, but when it dies, it is the ants that eat it.

El tiempo y las circunstancias pueden cambiar en cualquier momento, por eso, no devalúes nada en tu vida.

Time and circumstances can change at any moment, so don’t devalue anything in your life.

Puedes tenerlo todo hoy, pero acuérdate: el tiempo es mucho más poderoso que cualquiera de nosotros. ¿Sabias que de un árbol se hacen un millón de fósforos, pero basta un fósforo para quemar un millón de árboles?

El tiempo es como un río: nunca podrás tocar la misma agua dos veces, porque el agua que ya pasó, nunca pasará nuevamente.
