SPEARHEAD GOODBYE, MY GENERAL!

No hay una frase más lapidaria para un senador irreverente y candidato a la presidencia, hoy presidente, que la respuesta en trino, que le fue dada por el señor General Zapateiro Altamiranda, para defender la institución del ejército.

There is no more lapidary phrase for an irreverent senator and candidate for the presidency, today president, than the trilled response, which was given to him by Mr. General Zapateiro Altamiranda, to defend the institution of the army.

Como principio, tiene el General por convicción, que por ningún motivo de aversión al uniforme militar, y menos caprichosamente permite, que un servidor público, esté en la orilla ideológica donde se encuentre, populistamente y sin motivos justificados denigre e insulte a las fuerzas armadas a sus soldados y policías, que defienden la democracia, la constitución, la ley y el orden.

As a principle, the General is convinced, that for no reason of aversion to the military uniform, and less capriciously allows, that a public servant, be on the ideological shore wherever he is, populist and without justified reasons denigrates and insults the armed forces to its soldiers and policemen, who defend democracy, the constitution, law and order.

Ellos son un patrimonio de la patria y de la vida republicana, que están para defender los bienes, la vida y honra de los colombianos, y para defenderla también de los indolentes, que la irrespeten. Eso, hizo el General Zapateiro, con Petro, poner en su puesto a quien encarna al lobo carnívoro, y al conejo vegetariano en simultánea.

They are a heritage of the homeland and of republican life, who are here to defend the property, life and honor of Colombians, and to defend it also from the indolent, who disrespect it. That, General Zapateiro did, with Petro, put in his position whoever embodies the carnivorous wolf, and the vegetarian rabbit simultaneously.

La actitud del admirable oficial, me hizo recordar, la sentencia del general Charles de Gaulle, cuando dijo refiriéndose al deber: “Patriotismo es cuando el amor por tu propio pueblo, es lo primero. Nacionalismo, es cuando el odio por los demás, es lo primero” Ahí veo retratados a Petro, su vicepresidente, y su Pacto Histórico, y al patriota como el gran General Zapateiro, que demuestra ser el hombre del pueblo, en su renombrado y ya histórico TRINO.

The admirable officer’s attitude reminded me of General Charles de Gaulle’s sentence, when he said referring to duty: “Patriotism is when love for your own people comes first. Nationalism, is when hatred for others comes first” There I see Petro portrayed, his vice president, and his Historical Pact, and the patriot as the great General Zapateiro, who proves to be the man of the people, in his renowned and already historic TRINO.

Caricaturizó a Petro, como el ser que no tiene fronteras, y que predica el todo se vale, poniendo de primero, sus intereses personales, los que defiende con odiosa arrogancia enfermiza. Además, resume el comandante, en su lapidaria frase, y de manera contundente, una singular modalidad delincuencial, muy típica entre los ladrones de baja ralea, que utilizan cualquier medio, para envolver, el delito y su causa: Bolsas de basura, método, para reducir a su mínima expresión el valor de lo que lleva oculto.

Es admirable y honroso que las fuerzas armadas, en especial el Ejercito nacional, que tengan ese modelo de generales, que son ejemplo para la institución y baluartes para hacer respetar la institucionalidad. Que sean Oficiales, que no coman cuentos, ni mermeladas, y para que jamás claudiquen y vendan su juramento a la bandera, por ningún motivo. Es preferible, si la presión a ese punto los llevare, la rebelión por la dignidad de la causa y la fe, y por el respeto a la institución.

It is admirable and honorable that the armed forces, especially the national Army, have this model of generals, who are an example for the institution and bulwarks to enforce institutionality. That they be Officials, that they do not eat stories, or jams, and so that they never give up and sell their pledge to the flag, for any reason. It is preferable, if the pressure takes them to that point, the rebellion for the dignity of the cause and the faith, and for the respect of the institution.

Se retira el General Zapaterio Altamiranda, mañana 20 de Julio, del 2022, en fecha memorable y como despedida inolvidable, pero les deja, a los que se quedan, un desafío inmenso de grandeza y honor, que es sin duda un gran ejemplo para las fuerzas armadas, que los coloca a todos, en una línea de mando y cumplimiento del deber, que no puede ser inferior, al que deja el gran maestro que se retira de la comandancia, que lo hace, con la frente en alto, y en defensa del honor militar, y de sus soldados, que representan la esencia del pueblo, a quienes nos sirven con abnegación.

General Zapaterio Altamiranda retires tomorrow, July 20, 2022, on a memorable date and as an unforgettable farewell, but he leaves those who remain behind with an immense challenge of greatness and honor, which is undoubtedly a great example for the armed forces, which places them all, in a line of command and fulfillment of duty, which cannot be inferior, to the one left by the great master who retires from the command, who does so, with his head held high, and in defense of military honor, and of its soldiers, who represent the essence of the people, who serve us selflessly.

A esa mayoría de personas (pueblo) es a la que se refería el General Charles de Gaulle. Si los compañeros del General Zapateiro, aprendieron de su talante militar, la ejemplar lección de la defensa de la institución, al igual que sus soldados, los que se quedan repito, tienen la obligación de no apartarse de esa línea de conducta vertical, y en especial del valor moral y ético de hacer respetar su institución y la democracia, cueste lo que cueste.

This majority of people (people) is what General Charles de Gaulle was referring to. If General Zapateiro’s comrades learned from his military spirit the exemplary lesson of defending the institution, just like his soldiers, those who remain, I repeat, have the obligation not to stray from that vertical line of conduct, and in of the moral and ethical value of making their institution and democracy respected, whatever the cost.

Si por el contrario, predomina la vanidad sobre la humildad en el cargo, y ejercen las jerarquías militares con donaires de monarcas, para humillar a sus subalternos, o entregarse al capricho de políticos abusivos, comienzan a dar los primeros pasos como débiles de formación y candidatos para ser fácilmente “enmermelados”. Eso significa, que esos oficiales, están en el lugar equivocado, como algunos lo estuvieron en los tiempos de Santos, que eran unos infiltrados del comunismo, comodines y alfombras rojas, para la llegada de Petro.

If, on the contrary, vanity prevails over humility in office, and they exercise military hierarchies with the grace of monarchs, to humiliate their subordinates, or surrender to the whim of abusive politicians, they begin to take the first steps as weak in formation and candidates to be easily “jammed”. Al presidente “electo”, no le quedara fácil, manipular hoy día, las fuerzas armadas, y pienso que tampoco la Policía Nacional. Yo supongo, que en el congreso, pese a su gran mayoría de vocación oportunista gobiernista, tendrán sus defensores, que eviten que nuestras fuerzas como también la Policía Nacional como el Esmad, jamás sean reducidas a su mínima expresión, antes, hay que fortalecerlas. Eso pienso, movido por el optimismo que siempre me ha caracterizado, cuando confronto la templanza, que está por encima de la esperanza ambiciosa.

Eso, desde luego, si se cumplen los principios personales de auto estima y defensa de la propia dignidad. A Petro le cae como anillo al dedo la frase del actor Clint Eastwood, que se le acomoda a la reacción de Zapateiro: Petro: «Nunca os habéis cruzado con alguien, a quien no deberías habéis tentado». Como quien dice: «Respeta mi institución carajo». -Siempre he pensado que una cosa es ser obediente al mando y jerarquía cumpliendo la disciplina militar, y otra cosa es convertirse en vasallo con apariencias de sublime, para transformarse después, en un lacayo, con uniforme, y como elegante cargador de maletas de los Capos. Es decir: Botones con charreteras. Que la sumisión militar no llegue, como llegó a Venezuela: por la plata baila el perro. Y con los 50 billones de la reforma tributaria, será feriar la patria para ganar adeptos. Ojo, con eso. – El buen oficial está obligado a decir: NOLI ME TANGERE, que traduce: No me toquéis, no me detengas, respétenme.

Aprovecho la oportunidad, para rendirle por intermedio de estas líneas, mi tributo de admiración a la dignísima esposa del señor General, Doctora Francis Parra, medica de profesión y ejercicio, quién asumió uno de los papeles protagónicos más importantes en la vida del general, su ayuda idónea, que es y será, el haberse convertido en apoyo y estímulo a la perseverancia del deber militar con serenidad, equilibrio, pero también como mediadora y guía ante las reacciones y estados temperamentales de un soldado valiente, que no lo domina, ni el rango, ni el cargo, ni el sueldo, sino la dignidad propia y la defensa de la patria, que está por encima de los intereses personales.
A sus dos hijos, que siempre se lucieron como alumnos sencillos, y sin ostentaciones, prudentes y tranquilos. Allí también estuvo el éxito del General que mañana se despide con honores al lado de su dignísima esposa e hijos. SOLDADOS: A defender el legado Zapateiro.

I take this opportunity, through these lines, to pay my tribute of admiration to the worthy wife of Mr. General, Dr. Francis Parra, a physician by profession and practice, who assumed one of the most important leading roles in the life of the general, her ideal help, which is and will be, having become a support and encouragement to the perseverance of military duty with serenity, balance, but also as a mediator and guide in the face of the reactions and temperamental states of a brave soldier, who does not dominate him, nor the rank, or position, or salary, but the dignity and the defense of the country, which is above personal interests. To his two children, who always shined as simple students, and without ostentation, prudent and calm. There was also the success of the General who says goodbye tomorrow with honors next to his worthy wife and children. SOLDIERS: To defend the Zapateiro legacy.
