No gracias, ni el microchip para nada”, todo esto y como respuesta a un tweet que hiciera el presentador de noticias de la CNN Camilo Egaña. Más no podemos asegurar si cambiaría de postura la cantante al respecto como ha venido sucediendo con otros grandes personajes..

El canal El Trece de la televisión argentina lo contrata como artista exclusivo y participa en uno de los programas musicales más populares de la televisión juvenil El Sótano Beat. Y en el 82 llega su albúm Coco Loco con una innovadora fusión de ritmos latinos y otros géneros musicales y a pesar que dicha discográfica Melody fue comprada por Televisa esto no opacó las ventas que ascendieron a más de medio millón de copias.

Ya en 1990 fue coautor del tema “El rostro del amor”, dedicado al Papa Juan Pablo II en su segunda visita a México, siendo también la segunda vez que graba un tema a duo con su esposa Amanda Miguel: “Volvamos a empezar” cuyo video llegó al puesto 1 en MTV. En el 93 vuelve con “Lágrimas” una fusión de balada con ritmos latinos como el merengue. Y es en el 1999 que obtiene el doble Disco de Oro con el álbum “Inolvidable” producido en Los Angeles USA con el músico mexicano Gustavo Farías.
