COLOMBIA: MAYOR VIRNA JOHNSON CALLS TO THE SAMARIA COMMUNITY «Respect for the life of animals»

Desde hace algún tiempo, el distrito de Santa Marta, viene gestando una labor ardua con los animales desamparados en la ciudad, los cuales en muchas ocasiones son blanco del maltrato por parte de algunos desadaptados que aprovechándose de la indefensión de estos seres, les agreden y maltratan.

For some time now, the district of Santa Marta has been developing arduous work with the homeless animals in the city, which on many occasions are the target of mistreatment by some misfits who, taking advantage of the defenselessness of these beings, attack them and they mistreat.

Sin embargo, un gran número de personas tienen una sensibilidad especial hacia el sufrimiento de los animales y nos conectan con nuestra parte vulnerable y nos hacen experimentar una gran ternura que provoca emociones intensas hacia ellos.

However, a large number of people have a special sensitivity towards the suffering of animals and they connect us with our vulnerable part and make us experience great tenderness that provokes intense emotions towards them.

Desafortunadamente en días pasados, esa sensibilidad, se ausentó de alguien que sin piedad alguna atacó con un arma traumática a un indefenso perro en Santa Marta, pero que afortunadamente no le costó la vida al animal, sin embargo, la bestia huyó sonriente, saciado de morbo tras el sufrimiento del canino en tan cobarde ataque.

Unfortunately in recent days, that sensitivity was absent from someone who mercilessly attacked a defenseless dog with a traumatic weapon in Santa Marta, but fortunately did not cost the animal its life, however, the beast fled smiling, satiated with Morbid after the suffering of the canine in such a cowardly attack.

Frente a esta triste situación, muchos tanto en Colombia como en el extranjero pudimos leer en la cuenta de Twitter de la alcaldesa de Santa Marta en Colombia la Sra.: Virna Johnson, donde se refiere como ¡Indignante! al estado en el cual se encuentran algunas especies en la calle, en especial lo ocurrido con un canino llamado «Rocky», el cual por fortuna, su salud ya está algo estable tras haber sido blanco de un ataque con arma traumática en el sector conocido como «El Bolsillo», donde desalmados abusaron del animal disparándole, motivo por el cual anunció la activación de la ruta de atención a Rocky.

En el caso de Rocky, además de sufrir abandono y maltrato despierta en estas personas un sentimiento de dolor intenso al empatizar con ellos y su situación.

Para los profesionales entendidos en el tema, existen dos formas de afrontamiento a nivel psicológico de este dolor que nos provoca ver a un animal sufrir. Una es la evitación, que es una forma tóxica y desadaptativa de no enfrentarnos a los problemas. En lugar de resolver, lo que se hace es huir de aquello a lo que tenemos porque nos genera malestar. Sin embargo, el fondo no sentimos culpables porque sabemos que estamos dando prioridad a nuestro bienestar, en lugar de ayudar al que lo está pasando mal.

For professionals who understand the subject, there are two ways of coping at a psychological level with this pain that causes us to see an animal suffer. One is avoidance, which is a toxic and maladaptive way of not dealing with problems. Instead of solving, what we do is run away from what we have because it causes us discomfort. However, deep down we do not feel guilty because we know that we are prioritizing our well-being, rather than helping the one who is having a bad time.

En vista a lo que ocurre con los animales desamparados de la ciudad de Santa Marta Colombia, la Alcaldesa Virna Johnson y su equipo de trabajo están visitando los puntos donde se ha detectado la mayor concentración de animales para brindarles ayuda.

Con relación a esta situación, algunos ciudadanos manifiestan que en la ciudad hay distintos puntos con concentración de gatos y perros en mal estado y abandonados que requieren de la atención distrital, a lo cual la Alcaldesa Virna Johnson está atenta para brindar su máxima dedicación y atención por el bienestar de los animales.

No obstante se aprovecha y se hace un llamado a la humanización con estos seres vivos, que por condiciones ajenas a todos, les ha tocado jugar con la más fea «La Calle», una condición en la cual igualmente se encuentran personas por diferentes motivos, sin embargo, esto no es motivo para abusar del estado de indefensión, que por humildad les toca sortear el día a día, buscando albergue en cada rincón de la ciudad, o donde les coja la noche.

Rocky, luego de ser atacado con arma traumática en el barrio El Bolsillo, la comunidad solo espera que las autoridades de Fiscalía y Policía de Santa Marta, concentren sus esfuerzos en investigar y dar con los responsables de esta agresión contra Rocky, a fin de ejercer de manera contundente la justicia.

Rocky, after being attacked with a traumatic weapon in the El Bolsillo neighborhood, the community only hopes that the Santa Marta Public Prosecutor’s Office and Police authorities will concentrate their efforts on investigating and finding those responsible for this aggression against Rocky, in order to exercise in a forceful way justice.
