Somos muy felices en informales que 5 actores latinoamericanos han sido escogidos para formar parte del elenco de la versión de esta pieza The World United, que estrenará este 19 de junio de 2021.

Nos habla del miedo al enfrentarnos a una situación desconocida por la que atravesaba el mundo, y que incluso hoy tiene muchas preguntas sin resolver.
United by their love of theater and moved by the need to talk about a world event that changed the lives of more than seven billion people, we have brought together actors from all 5 continents. “The Art of Facing Fear” has been recognized as one of The most iconic works created during the pandemic period, was released for the first time in June 2020. It tells us about the fear when facing an unknown situation that the world was going through, and that even today has many unsolved questions.

Aunque en tiempos de confrontación mundial contra el Covid-19, la realización de actividades artísticas aún requiere de mucho esfuerzo, es un hecho que los artistas de tetaro necesitan trabajar. El mundo está volviendo poco a poco, depende del estado de la pandemia en cada país. Pero aun es un asunto de preocupación mundial, por eso nada mejor que reunir las experiencias de los cinco continentes, sintetizando, en palabras artísticas, un mismo sentimiento que ayude al mundo a respirar. En una aparente contradicción, esto es posible ahora, en una nueva vida que se desarrolla frente a nuestras pantallas.
Although in times of global confrontation against Covid-19, the realization of artistic activities still requires a lot of effort, it is a fact that the artists of tetaro need to work. The world is coming back little by little, it depends on the state of the pandemic in each country. But it is still a matter of global concern, for that reason nothing better than bringing together the experiences of the five continents, synthesizing, in artistic words, the same feeling that helps the world breathe. In an apparent contradiction, this is possible now, in a new life that unfolds in front of our screens.
LA UNIÓN DE LAS DIFERENCIAS – IDIOMA, CULTURA, HORARIO
Dirigida por Rodolfo García Vázquez, cofundador y director de Os Satyros, la obra será realizada principalmente en inglés, con excepciones de algunos textos dichos en el idioma materno de los actores. Como los ensayos, todas las presentaciones serán remotas y en tiempo real, cada actor desde su casa, en sus respectivos países y zonas horarias, usando la tecnología para poder reconciliar mundos diferentes.
Directed by Rodolfo García Vázquez, co-founder and director of Os Satyros, the play will be performed mainly in English, with the exception of some texts spoken in the actors’ mother tongue. Like the rehearsals, all the presentations will be remote and in real time, each actor from home, in their respective countries and time zones, using technology to reconcile different worlds.

Afortunadamente en The Red Curtain International tenemos experiencia en organizar calendarios con diferentes zonas horarias, porque organizamos y producimos dos versiones del festival mundial de teatro digital The Good The@tre Festivals & Awards. El jurado también tiene que ver piezas en vivo (piezas grabadas no las consideramos teatro real) así que ya sabíamos un poco sobre los posibles horarios que serían mejor para los encuentros online. Os Satyros tambipen sabe sobre cómo lidiar con horarios internacionales, porque ya habían producido la versión afro-europea y la versión norteamericana de la obra” dice el director y productor Sumit Lai Roy, uno de los fundadores de The Red Curtain International.
“Twenty-five actors from the five continents! If you think finding them was difficult, imagine scheduling rehearsal times with all those different times. Fortunately at The Red Curtain International we have experience in organizing calendars with different time zones, because we organize and produce two versions of the world festival of digital theater The Good The @ tre Festivals & Awards. The jury also has to see live pieces (recorded pieces we do not consider real theater) so we already knew a little about the possible times that would be best for online meetings. Os Satyros also knows how to deal with international schedules, because they had already produced the Afro-European version and the North American version of the work ”says director and producer Sumit Lai Roy, one of the founders of The Red Curtain International.
“The Art Of Facing Fear” mantiene su impulso original, pero ha sido renovada debido al elenco de múltiples nacionalidades y también al paso del tiempo desde su primer estreno hasta ahora. “Ningún trabajo de Os Satyros ignora cuestiones socio-políticas, económicas y artísticas dentro del trabajo. Por lo tanto, el texto refleja mucho de la dinámica desarrollada por este elenco multicultural.”, explica Rodolfo García Vázquez.
«The Art Of Facing Fear» maintains its original momentum, but has been revamped due to the cast of multiple nationalities and also the passage of time from its first release until now. “No work by Os Satyros ignores socio-political, economic and artistic issues within the work. Therefore, the text reflects much of the dynamics developed by this multicultural cast. ”, Explains Rodolfo García Vázquez.
SINOPSIS / SYNOPSIS
En un futuro distópico, las personas intentan reconstruir historias de una vida antes de la pandemia. En cuarentena desde hace 5.555 días, aislados y angustiados, crean un grupo de internet para conectarse. Estos amigos no entienden cómo puede haber aun electricidad o acceso a internet, porque los canales de televisión y periódicos dejaron de existir y las ciudades han sido abandonadas. Depresión, soledad, miedo a contagiarse, angustia por la cercanía de la muerte impregnan las escenas de la obra.
In a dystopian future, people are trying to piece together stories from a life before the pandemic. In quarantine for 5,555 days, isolated and distressed, they create an internet group to connect. These friends do not understand how there can still be electricity or internet access, because television channels and newspapers ceased to exist and cities have been abandoned. Depression, loneliness, fear of infection, anguish over the proximity of death permeate the scenes of the play.
