As José Ortega y Gasset described it, «Toledo is amazing and excessive», its easy access from Madrid makes a visit a must. The AVE (Spanish High Speed) train connects Madrid and Toledo in just 30 minutes.

Los edificios históricos de la ciudad albergan fascinantes piezas artísticas como el Alcázar que acoge al renombrado Museo del Ejercito cuya exposición permanente incluye la espada de Boabdil ‘El Chico» último Rey de Granada. El Museo de Santa Cruz, antiguo hospital del siglo XVI alberga la historia y el arte de la ciudad desde los primeros pobladores hasta nuestros días. La Casa-Museo de el Greco, Domenikos Theotokopoulos, recientemente reinaugurado expone un apostolado completo realizado por el pintor cretense, y entre otras obras espectaculares están «Vista Y Plano de Toledo” “Lagrimas de San Pedro.» y “La Ultima Cena”

The city’s historic buildings are home to fascinating pieces of art, such as the Alcázar, which houses the renowned Army Museum, whose permanent exhibition includes the sword of Boabdil ‘El Chico’, the last King of Granada. The Museum of Santa Cruz, a former hospital from the 16th century, houses the history and art of the city from the first settlers to the present day. The recently reopened House-Museum of El Greco, Domenikos Theotokopoulos, exhibits a complete apostolate by the Cretan painter, and among other spectacular works are «View and Plan of Toledo», «Tears of St. Peter» and «The Last Supper.»

Toledo, también conocida como la ciudad de las tres culturas y tolerancia religiosa en donde sobresalía el respeto entre judíos, cristianos y musulmanes.  La Judería toledana, la más importante de España y una de las más grandes de Europa, como prueba de ello están las Sinagogas de El Transito y Santa María la Blanca, o la recientemente descubierta Sinagoga del Sofer, la Mezquita de las Tornerías, la Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz, que con el pasar de los años se han ido convirtiendo en iglesias. Es muy notorio ver en la ciudad algunos símbolos hebreos.

Toledo, also known as the city of three cultures and religious tolerance where respect between Jews, Christians and Muslims stood out.  The Jewish quarter of Toledo, the most important in Spain and one of the largest in Europe, as proof of this are the Synagogues of El Transito and Santa María la Blanca, or the recently discovered Sofer Synagogue, the Mosque of Las Tornerías, the Mosque of Cristo de la Luz, which over the years have been converted into churches. It is very noticeable to see some Hebrew symbols in the city.

Considerada como una gran obra gótica y donde se puede apreciar un museo en el que se expone obras de Rubens, Rafael, Tiziano, Goya y la obra más famosa de el Greco “El espolio de Cristo” Otra vista obligada es la Iglesia de Santo Tome, que acoge otra obra de el Greco » El entierro del Conde Ordaz» Continuando el recorrido encontraremos El Ayuntamiento, La Puerta de Bisagra, puerta de entrada a Toledo, o las Cortes de Castilla la Mancha antiguo convento del siglo XVII, el Monasterio San Juan de los Reyes, El Castillo de San Servando entre otros. Siguiendo hacia la zona del valle una vista panorámica de la ciudad proporciona al visitante un recuerdo imborrable de Toledo.

Considered a great Gothic work and where you can see a museum in which works by Rubens, Raphael, Titian, Goya and the most famous work of El Greco «The Spoliation of Christ» are exhibited. Another must-see is the Church of Santo Tome, which houses another work by El Greco «The Burial of Count Ordaz» Continuing the tour we will find the Town Hall,  The Puerta de Bisagra, the gateway to Toledo, or the Cortes de Castilla la Mancha old convent of the seventeenth century, the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, the Castle of San Servando among others. Continuing towards the valley area, a panoramic view of the city provides the visitor with an indelible memory of Toledo.

La plaza Zocodover localizada en el centro de la ciudad es el sitio de mayor concurrencia, donde se realizan fiestas y toda clase de actos sociales, que además sirve de encuentro y guía para el visitante y desde allí se puede tomar un tour de la ciudad en un pintoresco Trole bus, el mismo que hace un fascinante recorrido de 45 minutos y a la hora de almorzar una variedad de restaurantes rodea la plaza Zocodover.

The Zocodover Square located in the center of the city is the place with the greatest attendance, where parties and all kinds of social events are held, which also serves as a meeting and guide for the visitor and from there you can take a tour of the city in a picturesque trolley bus, which makes a fascinating 45-minute tour and at lunch time a variety of restaurants surround the square Zocodover.
