El hoy archi famoso multimillonario que porta el apellido Munsk, que no sabe bien qué hacer con tanto dinero que lo ahoga, continúa persiguiendo el sueño -basado en la informática, inicialmente, y asentado ahora en la fantasía de la “inteligencia artificial”. Y escribo fantasía porque Munsk está persuadido de que construirá un robot que pueda sustituir al ser humano, prácticamente en todos los actos de nuestra especie.

The now famous billionaire who bears the surname Munsk, who does not know what to do with so much money that it suffocates him, continues to pursue the dream – based on computing, initially, and now based on the fantasy of «artificial intelligence.» And I write fantasy because Munsk is convinced that he will build a robot that can replace the human being, in practically all the actions of our species.

Regreso a Gáspari: “El culto al progreso, asociado a la adoración de la riqueza y el poder, es cosa antigua. El historiador americano Henry Adams fijó el nacimiento de un nuevo mundo en 1844, cuando Boston y Albany quedaron unidas por el ferrocarril, surgieron los primeros vapores y el telégrafo unió Baltimore con Washington. En 1968, el Museo de New York, con su propensión de alterar anuncios de nacimiento y muerte de nuevos universos, inauguró una exposición llamada “La Máquina como es vista en el fin de la era de la Máquina”.

Return to Gáspari: “The cult of progress, associated with the worship of wealth and power, is an ancient thing. The American historian Henry Adams established the birth of a new world in 1844, when Boston and Albany were linked by the railroad, the first steamships emerged, and the telegraph linked Baltimore to Washington. In 1968, the New York Museum, with its penchant for altering announcements of the birth and death of new universes, opened an exhibition called “The Machine as Seen at the End of the Machine Age.”

Gáspari describe una gran cantidad de mentiras anunciadas como el comienzo o el fin de una forma de vida y la afectación que sufrirá la existencia humana, hasta llegar a los experimentos de Gates o Munsk: “Es dura la vida de los dueños del mundo. No existe nadie que no haya oído que toda la obra de Shakespeare cabría en un CD. Lo que se puede hacer con Shakespeare en una computadora, más allá de que se tiene una computadora con Shakespeare dentro, pues, bueno, no se sabe”.

Gáspari describes a large number of lies announced as the beginning or the end of a way of life and the impact that human existence will suffer, until reaching the experiments of Gates or Munsk: “The life of the owners of the world is hard. There is no one who has not heard that all of Shakespeare’s works could fit on a CD. What you can do with Shakespeare on a computer, beyond the fact that you have a computer with Shakespeare inside, well, you don’t know.»
