COLOMBIA: The Santa Marta Theater opens the doors to art and culture with the play «STORY OF A SHEEP»
Con una agenda cargada de mucha cultura y emociones, el Teatro de Santa Marta volvió a abrir sus puertas y a sus funciones ayer sábado con la presentación de dos obras teatrales estelares, entre las que se destaca ‘Historia de una oveja’.
With an agenda loaded with a lot of culture and emotions, The Santa Marta Theater reopened its doors and its functions on Saturday with the presentation of two stellar theatrical works, among which ‘Story of a sheep’ stands out.
Obra, escrita y dirigida por Fabio Rubiano, narra la historia del desplazamiento forzado que deben vivir los habitantes de la vereda del Santo José.
Work, written and directed by Fabio Rubiano, tells the story of the forced displacement that the inhabitants of the Santo José village must experience.
La obra teatral describe una historia de migraciones y migrantes, de gente que tiene que salir de sus hogares para empezar a vivir en otra tierra que les es ajena. Por eso desde las 5 p.m. el lugar abrió sus puertas para que Marcela Valencia, Julián Román y Juanita Cetina darán vida a los personajes de esta obra.
The play describes a history of migrations and migrants, of people who have to leave their homes to start living in another land that is alien to them. That’s why from 5 p.m. the place opened its doors for Marcela Valencia, Julián Román and Juanita Cetina to give life to the characters in this play.
Berenée, una oveja inocente e ingenua; Alí, el eterno migrante; y la niña Tránsito, la que guía a esta “familia” en este viaje sin rumbo, hicieron de la noche un rato agradable y feliz para las familias asistentes.
Berenée, an innocent and naive sheep; Ali, the eternal migrant; and the girl Tránsito, the one who guides this «family» on this aimless journey, made the night a pleasant and happy time for the attending families.
A las 8 p.m. otra función brindó más emociones para el público del Teatro Santa Marta, que desde esta semana abrió nuevamente sus puertas, gracias a la buena gestión de la Secretaría de Cultura y la Alcaldía local a cargo de su Alcaldesa la Sra. Virna Johnson, la misma que goza de gran popularidad dentro y fuera del territorio Colombiano.

La programación continuará el viernes 26 de noviembre con música, a cargo del argentino Piero; luego se extiende hasta el sábado 27 con la presentación de la franja músicas del mundo por Caferina Banquez y finalmente culmina el domingo 28, con la presentación de Bonobos, del género de comedía y teatro familiar.
The program will continue on Friday, November 26 with music, by the Argentine Piero; then it runs until Saturday the 27th with the presentation of the world music strip by Caferina Banquez and finally ends on Sunday the 28th, with the presentation of Bonobos, from the genre of comedy and family theater.
Asimismo, la programación se extenderá hasta el mes de diciembre, abriendo los días 3 y 5 con la franja de teatro local, una obra familiar, infantil con estilo social y académico.

Cabe recordar que la asistencia por parte del público al escenario es libre, es decir que tanto samarios y visitantes podrán acercarse a las taquillas del teatro con dos días de anticipación a la respectiva función para reclamar sus entradas.

El Teatro Santa Marta es un ícono cultural de la ciudad y un hito de su centro histórico, así como un referente urbano en la memoria colectiva de los samarios, declarado Bien de Interés Cultural de la Nación en 2006.

Es por ello que en la gala de reapertura del teatro Santa Marta también intervino María Ximena Lombana, ministra de Comercio, Industria y Turismo, quien señaló: «Estamos seguros que este teatro será uno de los atractivos turísticos más importantes de la región y un motor para potenciar el turismo cultural en Santa Marta, beneficiando a los artistas y creadores locales e incentivando el consumo cultural».
That is why María Ximena Lombana, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, also took part in the reopening gala of the Santa Marta theater, who said: «We are sure that this theater will be one of the most important tourist attractions in the region and an engine to promote cultural tourism in Santa Marta, benefiting local artists and creators and encouraging cultural consumption.»
Con la reapertura de sus puertas, el teatro Santa Marta se suma al proceso de transformación urbana, económica, política y social de la ciudad.
