25 de febrero de 2014. Paco de Lucía estaba jugando con su hijo pequeño en Playa del Carmen, en la Riviera Maya del estado de Quintana Roo, México. Estaba feliz, descansando y disfrutando de la calidez del clima caribeño, en la mejor de las compañías.

La Playa del Carmen convertida en umbral de paso al incierto más allá…

Este 25 de febrero de 2024, queremos unirnos a las múltiples conmemoraciones de esta década sin la presencia física Paco de Lucía. Tan muerto su cuerpo, tan viva su vida su guitarra y su legado musical, sin el cual el flamenco de hoy no sería lo mismo, las guitarras contemporáneas no sonarían igual.

Hasta el Flamenco Festival 2024, celebrado en seis ciudades de Estados Unidos del 1 al 17 de marzo, en su vigésimo tercera edición. En trece espacios de Nueva York, ocho de Miami, Boston, Los Ángeles, Chicago y Washington DC, está dedicado en su totalidad a Paco de Lucía, con presencia de ciento cincuenta artistas españoles de cante, toque y baile, y ochenta de Nueva York que actuarán con el gran Paco en sus mentes, porque todos le deben algo, todos le aman, le respetan y le llevan vivo en su recuerdo.

Until the Flamenco Festival 2024, held in six cities in the United States from March 1 to 17, in its twenty-third edition.
