MAN: AN EXPLOSIVE COCKTAIL CALLED «Juan Pablo Gutiérrez»

Su talento es innato, empírico, pero no improvisado, es 100% autodidacta, aprende rápido viendo y escuchando, pero sin duda alguna, son las experiencias de la vida, las que más le han aportado a su proceso de crecimiento personal y profesional.

Desde pequeño descubrió su talento para dibujar, pero talento sin suerte, dicen que no es una buena combinación y si a esto se le suma un ingrediente en “mal estado”, la bebida perfecta, se puede fermentar y convertir en un líquido muy peligroso de ingerir.

A la edad de 11 años, un familiar (ingrediente en mal estado) de Juan Pablo, lanzó un comentario que fue fulminante y resultó casi letal para el artista en desarrollo. “¿Usted cree que pintando mamarrachos va a llegar a algún lado? ¡váyase a pegar ladrillo!  Maneje la volqueta como su abuelo, eso sí es trabajar de verdad…” Fueron las palabras que aquella tarde de un jueves de 1996, hicieron eco en Gutiérrez, logrando minar tanto en él, retrasando su proceso de adecuada preparación por más de 20 años y, por ende, el deleite de todos los amantes de los buenos cócteles.  El anterior comentario hacía referencia al “Pato Lucas” de la película “Space Jam” personaje que el caricaturista admiraba y dibujó.

Pero como no hay tiempo que no se cumpla y plazo que no se venza, luego de 20 años manejando volquetas, de idas y vueltas, de altos y bajos, y de una vida muy frustrante e infeliz, tuvo que llegar la pandemia, para que aquel niño cargado de sueños e ingredientes que juntos podrían hacer un explosivo cóctel, resurgiera como el ave fénix y lo colocara frente a frente para matar sus miedos y darle paso a lo que realmente lo llenaba: ser artista.

“Tuvo que correr mucha agua debajo del puente, mucho llanto, muchas desilusiones, equivocaciones y tremendos desaciertos que lejos de darme fuerzas, me colocaron a las puertas de decir, NO PUEDO MÁS” Asegura Juan Pablo.

Gutiérrez, también afirma haber caído tan bajo, que no le da pena manifestar, que consumió droga, se volvió dependiente a sustancias dañinas que lo colocaron de cara a una compleja situación. Fue precisamente, ante esas circunstancias, donde Juan Pablo, tuvo que sacar la casta y demostrar de lo que estaba hecho y para qué estaba en este mundo. Su novia, de ese entonces, hoy su mujer, María Fernanda Claro, una vallenata que se convirtió en pieza clave y fundamental para que el artista se levantará y retomara las riendas de su vida.

Es un artista integral, multifacético, pues no solo dibuja, crea y recrea, sino que además es compositor, productor, canta, hace música, escribe (próximo a lanzar su propio libro), es animador en 2D, pero de todas las facetas descritas, hay una que le encanta, se siente cómodo y con la cual más que ser un apasionado término que no le gusta, ya que considera estar sobrevalorado y distorsionado por el mal uso y abuso del mismo. Se siente pleno, lleno y muy útil para la sociedad, estamos hablando de ser COACH.

Asegura Juan Pablo.

De igual manera, tiene claro que no hay dinero que seduzca o pague su trabajo porque además de ingredientes obvios y básicos que debe  tener una buena: caricatura,  charla, letra, etc., es muy consciente del amor, la entrega, dedicación, esmero y deseo de superarse que le impregna a cada  reto que decide emprender; elementos extras, que se notan y se sienten, pues su verdadero pago es la aceptación del público que él humildemente recibe, aprecia y lo toma con mucha responsabilidad, ya que como él mismo dice: “la voz del pueblo es la que manda”.
