The Sanse Festivities

La Fiesta de la Calle San Sebastián, mejor conocida cariñosamente como la Sanse, comenzó el jueves 15 de enero y culminó este domingo 18 de enero de 2026, como cierre oficial de las Fiestas de Navidad de Puerto Rico, consideradas las más largas del mundo.

The San Sebastián Street Festival, affectionately known as Sanse, began on Thursday, January 15 and culminated this Sunday, January 18, 2026, as the official closing of Puerto Rico’s Christmas festivities, considered the longest in the world.

La celebración se inició oficialmente a las 5:00 p. m. con comparsas y desfiles de los tradicionales cabezudos, que esta vez fueron dedicados a los esposos, actores y productores puertorriqueños Jacobo Morales y Blanca Silvia Eró.

The celebration officially began at 5:00 p.m. with troupes and parades of the traditional giant heads, which this time were dedicated to the Puerto Rican couple, actors and producers Jacobo Morales and Blanca Silvia Eró.

Repica con fuerza y alegría el estribillo de la Sanse al ritmo de la plena:
“Voy subiendo, voy bajando,
yo vivo como yo vivo
y sigo vacilando.”

The Sanse refrain echoes with strength and joy to the rhythm of the plena:
“I go up, I go down,
I live my life the way I live it
and I keep on celebrating.”

Las Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián 2026, como es costumbre, son una verdadera expresión de la cultura puertorriqueña. El público puede disfrutar de una amplia oferta de entretenimiento que incluye artesanía, comparsas, vejigantes, música y bailes improvisados que toman vida en cada rincón de la calle.

As is tradition, the 2026 Calle San Sebastián Street Festival is a vibrant celebration of Puerto Rican culture. Attendees can enjoy a wide variety of entertainment, including artisan crafts, comparsas, vejigantes, music, and spontaneous dancing that fills the streets with life.

Tras bambalinas, los chicos que transportan a los artistas y futuros talentos en carritos de golf también forman parte del ambiente festivo, donde no falta el buen humor ni el vacilón, porque…
