Corral de la Morería, 20 de mayo 1956, 20 de mayo 2024. Feliz sesenta y ocho cumpleaños y parece que fue ayer. Lleno total de medios, artistas de entonces y de ahora, artistas que estuvieron en el Corral de la Morería en la juventud de ambos, evocación de ausencias, la primera la de su fundador, un hombre que creyó en su proyecto desde el primer minuto, Manuel del Rey.

A día de hoy Blanca del Rey, sigue bella y por uno de esos milagros que  la naturaleza obra entre quienes la aman y la respetan, Blanca del Rey, más que madre, parece la hermana de sus hijos, Juan Manuel y Armando, ni siquiera su hermana mayor. “¿Qué hacéis?” – pregunto a Juanma – “¿Qué hace ella?” – me responde.

 En el escenario de este centro de arte flamenco, artes gastronómicas y de vinos, todo en categoría de estado de las artes, están hoy Blanca, Juanma y Armando del Rey, el chef estrella Michelín, David García, el sumiller  Santi del Castillo, los artistas Ernesto Artillo, quien durante dos noches en el patio central de Conde Duque recrea en formato instalaciones y baile de iconos de la vanguardia como Rocío Molina y Andrés Marín, Niño de Elche y Yerai Cortés,  la historia de este tablao ya legendario; Eduardo Guerrero, el bailaor icono del Corral, para él siempre Doña Blanca, su directora y madre artística; Belén López, Lámpara Minera del Cante de las Minas de la Unión, que bailó por primera vez en el Corral a la edad de trece años; y el gran Rubén Olmo, actual director del Ballet Nacional de España, ex del Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, creador de compañías de baile desde hace muchos años, gran figura internacional del Flamenco, que hoy confiesa, con la humildad de todos los grandes, que Doña Blanca fue su maestra de baile por todos los palos del flamenco.
