Honrando la memoria y legado de Don Roberto Esper, las instalaciones del Diario La Libertad se vistieron de gala para celebrar sus 44 años. Años en los que esta casa editorial ha venido luchando para sacar adelante el ejercicio periodístico del que tanto se destaca desde su fundación en abril de 1979 y que hoy cuenta con un gran respeto y respaldo internacional.

En el año de 1979, fue fundado el periódico LA LIBERTAD por don Roberto Esper Rebaje, un medio de comunicación consolidado como uno de los líderes a nivel nacional que ha circulado por 44 años consecutivos llevando a los hogares caribeños la mejor información, siempre ‘Con la Fuerza de la Verdad’. Muy a pesar de que don «Robertico», nos dejara a la edad de 90 años, no cabe duda que dejó un valioso legado para las nuevas generaciones del periodismo.

Periódico que también cuenta con su propia revista Deportiva, en formato tabloide, con un enfoque exclusivo y dirigido al campo deportivo y una sección especial denominada “Crónica Judicial”, un informe que describe los sucesos más importantes en materia judicial a nivel local y nacional. También cuenta con su propia red radial regional: Cadena Radial La Libertad, con su emisora matriz: Radio Libertad 600 AM “la potentísima”, adicionalmente otras 4 emisoras más en Barranquilla (Emisoras Unidas 720 AM, Radio Tropical 1040 AM, Radio Aeropuerto 1160 AM, y Emisora 1220 AM), y la Emisora Fuentes de Cartagena 920 AM, y Ondas del Caribe de Santa Marta.

Es así, que el Medio Digital líder a nivel internacional y 7º en el ranking mundial «La Agencia Mundial de Prensa» en su gala de premiaciones a los medios de comunicación, periodistas y colaboradores dentro de los «Grand Awards 2021-2022», el mismo que estuvo presidido por la directora de La Agencia Mundial de Prensa Colombia y socia honoraria de La Agencia Mundial de Prensa (matrix), Betty Peláez M, quien compartió con el público y seguidores en toda Colombia y el mundo la entrega de dichos premios de las 30 categorías entre 283 nominados para escoger según votación pública internacional a los mejores de dicho año en los GRAND AWARDS 2021-2022 en la que Colombia fue el país más votado alzándose con 10 premios en las distintas categorías de los cuales sacamos 5 de los especiales. Destacando Luz Marina Esper, Directora del Diario LA LIBERTAD como MUJER DEL AÑO 2021-2022 de COLOMBIA en reconocimiento por su gran labor empresarial y social.

A la fecha estamos hablando de más de 4 décadas en que Don Roberto tuvo lo idea de incursionar en los medios de comunicación, convirtiéndose así en un ejemplo de las generaciones posteriores que ven con admiración la dedicación con la que sacó adelante lo que comenzó como un sueño. Gran labor de la que han sido testigos grandes representantes de la política nacional y local que recuerdan a nuestro fundador con la templanza que lo caracterizaba.

Así mismo, don Eduardo Verano De la Rosa, gran político y empresario colombiano, quien fuera gobernador del departamento del Atlántico por 2 periodos y recientemente pre-candidato a la Presidencia de la República de Colombia para las elecciones del año 2022 y quien tuvo la oportunidad de conocer a Don Roberto Esper, visitó al Diario La Libertad en su celebración exaltando el periodismo objetivo y de valor que se viene realizando desde aquel 7 d abril de 1979.

La Directora de esta casa editorial exaltó asi mismo la llegada de Eduardo Verano a la reunión que se desarrolló en las instalaciones del periódico, a quien le mencionó su gran admiración por el trabajo hecho durante su administración en el departamento al decir: «que grata visita tengo yo hoy aquí, para mí es un honor tener a mi maravilloso Eduardo Verano en presencia de Diario La Libertad … sabes que eres de mis lideres más representativos que hizo tanto por nuestro Atlántico con 800 obras que es todo un récord y estás hoy aquí contra viento y marea» dijo Luz Marina Esper.

Sin embargo no hay que olvidar lo que hemos manifestado en anteriores oportunidades, lo que ayer era una labor tranquila, que no amenazaba la seguridad y la tranquilidad de los que ejercemos el periodismo, hoy es para nosotros un riesgo que algunas veces preocupa y otras sobrecoge, porque nos amenaza la violencia de los enemigos de la libertad de prensa.
