And few artists embody this truth as much as Isabel Ruiz de Velasco “Ruzi,” a tireless creator whose work has transcended borders, generations, and disciplines. With a career spanning more than 30 years, she has been recognized in the most prestigious museums in Mexico and around the world, leaving her mark on the Hall of Fame in Lithuania, the California Senate, and the hearts of those touched by her art and philanthropic work.

Trayectoria y Arte / Career and Art

CB: Isabel, con más de 30 años de carrera en el arte, ¿Cómo describirías la evolución de tu estilo y tu mensaje a lo largo del tiempo? CB: Isabel, with over 30 years of experience in the arts, how would you describe the evolution of your style and message over time?

A lo largo de mis 30 años de carrera artística, mi estilo ha evolucionado significativamente. Inicialmente, estudié en la Academia de San Carlos bajo la guía de maestros como Luis Nishizawa Flores y Gilberto Aceves Navarro, mientras cursaba la carrera de comunicación. Durante seis años, me enfoqué en el dibujo y la figura humana, realizando retratos por encargo, práctica que he mantenido a lo largo de mi trayectoria. Mi desarrollo artístico me llevó a explorar diversas etapas: la figurativa, la geométrica, la de paisajes y la de bodegones, siempre incorporando un toque geométrico en mis obras. Esta exploración culminó en la creación de un estilo propio y reconocible: el cubismo figurativo. El cubismo, surgido a principios del siglo XX con artistas como Pablo Picasso y Georges Braque, se caracteriza por la fragmentación de formas y la representación de múltiples perspectivas en una sola imagen. Esta corriente ha dejado una huella profunda en el arte contemporáneo, influyendo en disciplinas como la arquitectura, el diseño gráfico y la moda. Artistas actuales reinterpretan los principios cubistas, integrándolos en nuevas corrientes y prácticas artísticas, lo que demuestra la vigencia y adaptabilidad del cubismo en el arte del siglo XXI. Mi transición hacia el cubismo figurativo refleja una síntesis personal de estas influencias, adaptándolas a mi visión artística única. Al integrar elementos geométricos en composiciones figurativas, he logrado un estilo distintivo que rinde homenaje a la tradición cubista mientras aporto una perspectiva contemporánea y personal.

Throughout my 30-year artistic career, my style has evolved significantly. Initially, I studied at the Academia de San Carlos under the guidance of teachers such as Luis Nishizawa Flores and Gilberto Aceves Navarro, while pursuing a degree in communications. For six years, I focused on drawing and the human figure, creating commissioned portraits, a practice I have maintained throughout my career. My artistic development led me to explore various stages: figurative, geometric, landscape, and still life, always incorporating a geometric touch in my works. This exploration culminated in the creation of my own recognizable style: figurative cubism. Emerging in the early 20th century with artists such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, Cubism is characterized by the fragmentation of forms and the representation of multiple perspectives in a single image. This movement has left a profound mark on contemporary art, influencing disciplines such as architecture, graphic design, and fashion. Contemporary artists reinterpret Cubist principles, integrating them into new artistic movements and practices, demonstrating the relevance and adaptability of Cubism in 21st-century art. My transition to figurative Cubism reflects a personal synthesis of these influences, adapting them to my unique artistic vision. By integrating geometric elements into figurative compositions, I have achieved a distinctive style that pays homage to the Cubist tradition while providing a contemporary and personal perspective.

En cuanto al mensaje: A lo largo de mi trayectoria artística, he buscado constantemente establecer una conexión profunda con las personas, enfocándome en expresar emociones y sentimientos internos en mis obras. Tanto en mis retratos como en mi colección «Nueva Civilización», mi objetivo es trascender la superficialidad promovida por los medios de comunicación actuales y llegar al interior de cada individuo.
La integración y unicidad sin de TODOS los seres vivos al final somos un planeta todos.
Además, mi compromiso con el bienestar animal ha sido una causa central en mi carrera. He dedicado mis esfuerzos a apoyar a los animales en peligro de extinción, utilizando mi arte como medio para generar conciencia y recursos. Mis obras han sido expuestas, subastadas y vendidas con el propósito de contribuir a la protección y conservación de diversas especies.

Regarding the message: Throughout my artistic career, I have constantly sought to establish a deep connection with people, focusing on expressing emotions and inner feelings in my works. In both my portraits and my «New Civilization» collection, my goal is to transcend the superficiality promoted by today’s media and reach the inner self of each individual.
The integration and unity of ALL living beings ultimately constitutes one planet.
Furthermore, my commitment to animal welfare has been a central cause in my career. I have dedicated my efforts to supporting endangered animals, using my art as a means to raise awareness and resources. My works have been exhibited, auctioned, and sold with the aim of contributing to the protection and conservation of various species.

Esta dualidad en mi trabajo refleja una propuesta artística que busca, por un lado, fomentar la conectividad humana a través de la exploración emocional y, por otro, promover el cuidado y respeto hacia los animales. Al integrar estas dimensiones, aspiro a inspirar una reflexión más profunda sobre nuestra relación con nosotros mismos, con los demás y con el mundo natural que nos rodea.

This duality in my work reflects an artistic approach that seeks, on the one hand, to foster human connectivity through emotional exploration and, on the other, to promote care and respect for animals. By integrating these dimensions, I aspire to inspire deeper reflection on our relationship with ourselves, with others, and with the natural world around us.

CB: Has expuesto en museos de renombre en México y el mundo. ¿Hay alguna exposición que haya marcado un antes y un después en tu carrera? CB: You’ve exhibited in renowned museums in Mexico and around the world. Is there a particular exhibition that marked a turning point in your career?

Mi reciente exposición «Nueva Civilización» en el Museo de la Mujer, ubicado en el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México, ha sido un hito en mi carrera artística. La muestra incluyó 89 piezas, entre óleos, acuarelas y esculturas. Además, colaboré con el diseñador Jorge Sánchez para crear un vestido inspirado en mis obras. La respuesta ha sido increíble, con una asistencia de alrededor de 150 personas en la inauguración y un promedio de 90 visitantes diarios.

My recent exhibition, «Nueva Civilización» (New Civilization), at the Museo de la Mujer (Museum of Women), located in Mexico City’s Historic Center, was a milestone in my artistic career. The exhibition included 89 pieces, including oil paintings, watercolors, and sculptures. I also collaborated with designer Jorge Sánchez to create a dress inspired by my work. The response has been incredible, with around 150 people attending the opening and an average of 90 visitors daily.

Decidí presentar mis obras sin firmarlas, buscando que fueran reconocidas por su estilo único, sin importar mi identidad como mujer, hombre, joven o mayor. Este enfoque ha sido exitoso, ya que el público y la crítica han identificado mi trabajo sin necesidad de una firma, lo que reafirma que lo importante es la creación en sí misma.

I decided to present my works unsigned, seeking recognition for their unique style, regardless of my identity as a woman, man, young, or old. This approach has been successful, as the public and critics have recognized my work without the need for a signature, reaffirming that what matters is the creation itself.

El Museo de la Mujer se dedica a visibilizar las contribuciones de las mujeres en la historia y el arte, ofreciendo un espacio para reflexionar sobre la igualdad de género y el papel de la mujer en la sociedad. The Women’s Museum is dedicated to highlighting the contributions of women in history and art, offering a space to reflect on gender equality and the role of women in society.

Esta experiencia ha sido maravillosa y representa la consolidación de mi estilo y mi mensaje artístico.

CB: Tu arte ha sido reconocido con premios prestigiosos y ha viajado por diversos países. ¿Cómo influye la multiculturalidad en tu obra y qué mensaje universal buscas transmitir? CB: Your art has been recognized with prestigious awards and has traveled to various countries. How does multiculturalism influence your work, and what universal message do you seek to convey?

Que esta civilización que invente es un ejemplo de esperanza aunque debemos regresar a conectarnos con nuestras emociones y sentimientos a traves de la colectividad, respeto y aceptación con las otras personas mirando su belleza interior.

May this civilization that I invented be an example of hope, although we must return to connecting with our emotions and feelings through community, respect, and acceptance with others, looking at their inner beauty.

CB: Una de tus obras se encuentra en el Salón de la Fama en Lituania. ¿Qué representa para ti este logro y cómo fue el proceso de selección para este reconocimiento? CB: One of your works is in the Hall of Fame in Lithuania. What does this achievement mean to you, and what was the selection process like for this recognition?

El proceso de selección en Lituania fue realmente muy hermoso y muy emocionante ya que fue un evento Internacional. Recibí una invitación, para participar y mi obra, que tiene como nombre Gestación, es una mujer embarazada con diferentes planos geométricos, dimensiones, en donde yo plasmé el ser interior de una mujer que está en gestación, esta pieza de arte , fue elegida. Y para mí fue algo realmente fascinante porque representar a mi país en Lituania, que es un país muy lejano, en un evento internacional tan importante , fue un gran logro . Y el haber sido, después de un proceso largo, seleccionada, fue para mí muy importante. Tambien, recibí un reconocimiento muy hermoso y esto lo llevo en mi corazón y tengo toda mi gratitud de haber compartido con este hermoso país de que mi obra haya sido elegida para estar en el Salón de la Fama en Lituania.

The selection process in Lithuania was truly beautiful and exciting because it was an international event. I received an invitation to participate, and my work, titled Gestation, is a pregnant woman with different geometric planes and dimensions. This piece of art captures the inner being of a pregnant woman. It was a truly fascinating experience for me because representing my country in Lithuania, a very distant country, at such an important international event was a huge achievement. Having been selected after a long process was incredibly important to me. I also received a wonderful recognition, and I hold this in my heart. I am truly grateful to have shared the joy of having my work chosen to be in the Hall of Fame in Lithuania with this beautiful country.

Compromiso con la Educación y la Filantropía / Commitment to Education and Philanthropy

CB: Tu compromiso con la educación te ha llevado a donar obras a bibliotecas nacionales y libros gratuitos. ¿Qué importancia tiene el arte en la formación educativa de las nuevas generaciones? CB: Your commitment to education has led you to donate works of art to national libraries and free books. How important is art in the educational development of the new generations?

Done una obra llamada Invitación a la Lectura al libro de Español Gratuito que llega a más de 30 millones de niños para motivarlos a leer y estas imágenes están en el área de niños en las Bibliotecas públicas impresas.
Para hacer esta imagen la Secretaria de Educación publica nos eligió a un grupo de artistas y nos dio un curso interesantísimo de como aprenden los niños de hoy. Por ello en mi obra Invitación a la Lectura realzo con mucho colorido y contenido de grandes libros en los que incluyo imágenes, a continuación algunos de los autores de cada obra:

I donated a work called «Invitation to Reading» to the Free Spanish Book, which reaches more than 30 million children to motivate them to read. These images are printed in the children’s section of public libraries. To create this image, the Ministry of Public Education selected a group of artists and gave us a fascinating course on how today’s children learn. Therefore, in my work «Invitation to Reading,» I highlight great books with colorful content and include images. Below are some of the authors of each work:

En cuanto a la importancia del arte en la formación educativa de las nuevas generaciones, es que el arte y la cultura son y serán la voz de nuestro presente es la manifestación de una época y es lo que en el futuro sabrán y se hablar de lo que fuimos, ahora el mundo conoce a México por Frida Kahlo y la época en que vivió o lo que sucedió en Guernica por la voz maravillosa de Pablo Picasso o la expresión de una emoción interior y sensaciones del mundo de el Grito de Edvard Munch.

Regarding the importance of art in the educational formation of the new generations, it is that art and culture are and will be the voice of our present, it is the manifestation of an era and it is what in the future will know and speak of what we were, now the world knows Mexico for Frida Kahlo and the time in which she lived or what happened in Guernica for the wonderful voice of Pablo Picasso or the expression of an inner emotion and sensations of the world of The Scream by Edvard Munch.

CB: Has trabajado en causas ambientales y en la protección de especies en peligro de extinción, incluso siendo reconocida como Embajadora del Águila Real. ¿Cómo nació esta faceta de tu activismo y qué proyectos te han marcado más? CB: You’ve worked on environmental causes and the protection of endangered species, even earning recognition as a Golden Eagle Ambassador. How did this aspect of your activism begin, and what projects have had the greatest impact on you?

Siempre me ha movido el deseo profundo de hacer algo por los demás y de dejar un mundo mejor. Siento que vine a este mundo para ofrecer lo mejor de mí, para impactar de manera positiva. Vengo de una familia muy altruista, soy la más pequeña de 18 hermanos, todos de un solo papá y una sola mamá. Mi familia fue parte del equipo nacional de paracaidismo, y crecí en un hogar lleno de valores, virtudes y una profunda conexión entre nosotros. Siempre hubo animales en mi casa, y desde pequeña aprendí a amarlos y respetarlos como seres esenciales de nuestro planeta.

I’ve always been driven by a deep desire to do something for others and to leave the world a better place. I feel like I came into this world to offer the best of myself, to make a positive impact. I come from a very altruistic family; I’m the youngest of 18 siblings, all with one father and one mother. My family was part of the national skydiving team, and I grew up in a home filled with values, virtues, and a deep connection between us. There were always animals in my house, and from a young age, I learned to love and respect them as essential beings on our planet.

Cuando me convertí en artista, me di cuenta de que mi arte podría ser una herramienta poderosa para ayudar, para contribuir a causas que realmente importan. Es por eso que comencé a colaborar con diversas instituciones, donando mis obras a orfanatos, Greenpeace, Cruz Roja Internacional, la ONU, la UNESCO y la UNICEF. Me emociona profundamente saber que mi arte puede contribuir a algo mayor que yo misma.
Y lo que me llena aún más es mi trabajo con la Fundación Kailani Evans, una organización que reúne artistas para apoyar a los animales en extinción, aquellos seres hermosos que están desapareciendo ante nuestros ojos. Cada vez que pienso en esos animales, siento una enorme tristeza por su sufrimiento, por su lucha por sobrevivir, y me impulsa con más fuerza a poner mi arte al servicio de su protección. Es un pequeño granito de arena, pero sé que, juntos, podemos hacer la diferencia y salvar vidas que aún tienen mucho que ofrecer a nuestro mundo.

When I became an artist, I realized that my art could be a powerful tool to help, to contribute to causes that truly matter. That’s why I began collaborating with various institutions, donating my works to orphanages, Greenpeace, the International Red Cross, the UN, UNESCO, and UNICEF. It moves me deeply to know that my art can contribute to something bigger than myself.
And what fulfills me even more is my work with the Kailani Evans Foundation, an organization that brings together artists to support endangered animals, those beautiful beings who are disappearing before our eyes. Every time I think of those animals, I feel enormous sadness for their suffering, for their struggle to survive, and it drives me even more strongly to put my art at the service of their protection. It’s a small grain of sand, but I know that, together, we can make a difference and save lives that still have so much to offer our world.

Fui invitada por la Fundación Endesu, una organización dedicada a salvar a las águilas reales, el emblema nacional de nuestro país. Es desgarrador saber que solo quedan 70 de esta especie. Me pidieron crear una pieza que representara a esta majestuosa ave, y fue un honor para mí convertirme en embajadora de la águila real. Desde entonces, he apoyado con todo mi corazón a esta importantísima fundación, que trabaja incansablemente para dar vida a estas hermosas y únicas aves, luchando por su preservación y bienestar.

I was invited by the Endesu Foundation, an organization dedicated to saving golden eagles, our country’s national emblem. It’s heartbreaking to know that only 70 of this species remain. They asked me to create a piece representing this majestic bird, and it was an honor for me to become a golden eagle ambassador. Since then, I have wholeheartedly supported this important foundation, which works tirelessly to bring these beautiful and unique birds to life, fighting for their preservation and well-being.

CB: Tu colaboración con organizaciones como la Cruz Roja, la UNESCO y la ONU demuestra una visión más allá del arte como una herramienta de transformación social. ¿Crees que el arte puede ser un motor de cambio real en el mundo? CB: Your collaboration with organizations like the Red Cross, UNESCO, and the UN demonstrates a vision beyond art as a tool for social transformation. Do you believe art can be a real driver of change in the world?

El arte puede cambiar al mundo porque tiene el poder de conectar con las emociones, despertar la conciencia y desafiar nuestras percepciones. A través de mi arte, puedo inspirar empatía, reflexión y acción para crear un futuro mejor.

Art can change the world because it has the power to connect with emotions, raise awareness, and challenge our perceptions. Through my art, I can inspire empathy, reflection, and action to create a better future.

Mi participación con instituciones como la Cruz Roja, la UNESCO, la ONU y la NASA me permite amplificar mi mensaje y tener un impacto directo en causas fundamentales. Al colaborar con ellas, mi arte apoya la ayuda humanitaria, la educación, la paz y la ciencia, llevando un mensaje de esperanza, justicia y conservación. Así, mi trabajo como artista contribuye a hacer un mundo más justo y sostenible.

My involvement with institutions such as the Red Cross, UNESCO, the UN, and NASA allows me to amplify my message and have a direct impact on critical causes. By collaborating with them, my art supports humanitarian aid, education, peace, and science, carrying a message of hope, justice, and conservation. Thus, my work as an artist contributes to a more just and sustainable world.

Reconocimientos y Proyectos Internacionales / International Recognitions and Projects

CB: Recibiste un Doctorado Honoris Causa y el Premio Nacional de la Mujer. ¿Cómo recibiste estos reconocimientos y qué significado tienen para ti? CB: You received an honorary doctorate and the National Women’s Award. How did you receive these recognitions, and what do they mean to you?

He recibido dos doctorados honoris causa. El primero fue entregado en el auditorio de la UNAM por el claustro APAUNAM, y el segundo por postulación, por el Instituto de Estudios Superiores y de Posgrado. Ambos me fueron otorgados en reconocimiento a las causas que he apoyado desde mis inicios. Fui productora de televisión, especialmente para niños, y realicé grandes campañas. Después, trabajé como productora de comerciales para empresas como Kellogg’s, Bimbo etc… Más adelante, con mi carrera como artista, he participado en numerosos proyectos altruistas, entre ellos Premio Nacional de la Mujer fui postulada y elegida por las causas de apóyate a los orfanatorios y asilos de ancianos.

I have received two honorary doctorates. The first was presented in the UNAM auditorium by the APAUNAM faculty, and the second, by nomination, by the Institute of Higher and Postgraduate Studies. Both were awarded to me in recognition of the causes I have supported since my early days. I was a television producer, especially for children, and produced major campaigns. Later, I worked as a commercial producer for companies such as Kellogg’s, Bimbo, and others. Later, in my career as an artist, I have participated in numerous altruistic projects, including the National Women’s Award, where I was nominated and chosen for the causes of «Support orphanages and nursing homes.»

Estos reconocimientos significan para mi, una gran responsabilidad y respeto por la vida de todo ser viviente y un compromiso a participar y promover las causas por el bien común.

These recognitions represent, to me, a great responsibility and respect for the life of all living beings, as well as a commitment to participate in and promote causes for the common good.

CB: En Estados Unidos, fuiste reconocida en vida por el Senado de California. ¿Qué crees que vio la comunidad internacional en tu trabajo para otorgarte este reconocimiento? CB: In the United States, you were recognized while still alive by the California Senate. What do you think the international community saw in your work to grant you this recognition?

El Senado de California me otorgó en vida un reconocimiento por mi trayectoria como artista, activista y altruista, en agradecimiento por el impacto positivo que he tenido en la sociedad.

The California Senate awarded me a lifetime achievement award for my career as an artist, activist, and altruist, in gratitude for the positive impact I’ve had on society.

Me fueron otorgados por mi dedicación a causas como la paz, la justicia social y la protección del medio ambiente, y por usar mi arte para contribuir al bienestar de los demás. Este gran Reconocimiento refleja mi compromiso con el cambio y la mejora del mundo. Hay que trabajar mucho más para lograrlo hay mucho que hacer.

I was awarded this recognition for my dedication to causes such as peace, social justice, and environmental protection, and for using my art to contribute to the well-being of others. This great recognition reflects my commitment to change and improving the world. Much more work is needed to achieve this; there is much to be done.

CB: Has trabajado con gigantes como Televisa, Kellogg, Bimbo y empresas de publicidad internacional en animación y diseño de personajes. ¿Cómo fue tu incursión en este mundo y qué proyecto te ha desafiado más? CB: You’ve worked with giants like Televisa, Kellogg, Bimbo, and international advertising companies in animation and character design. How did you get into this world, and what project has challenged you the most?

Estudié Ciencias y Técnicas de la Comunicación y una maestría en Desarrollo de Potencial Humano, especializada en Psicología Gestalt. Estas bases me permitieron trabajar como productora en grandes empresas transnacionales, desarrollando personajes importantes y especializándome en animación para televisión. Tuve la oportunidad de colaborar con Pixar y Animation House, quienes hicieron las animaciones de Yellow Submarine de los Beatles. Esto me dio una formación sólida y una visión para participar en proyectos internacionales y en mi arte. Y el proyecto que más me desafío fue una campaña de General Motors, en el mundo de los automóviles hay tanto que aprender..

I studied Communication Sciences and Techniques and a Master’s degree in Human Potential Development, specializing in Gestalt Psychology. These foundations allowed me to work as a producer for large transnational companies, developing important characters and specializing in television animation. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Pixar and Animation House, who animated the Beatles’ Yellow Submarine. This gave me a solid background and a vision to participate in international projects and develop my art. The project that challenged me the most was a General Motors campaign; there’s so much to learn in the automotive world.

CB: Tu arte ha llegado hasta Netflix con la serie “Made in México”. ¿Cómo se dio esta colaboración y qué impacto crees que tiene la visibilidad de los artistas en plataformas de streaming? CB: Your art has reached Netflix with the series «Made in Mexico.» How did this collaboration come about, and what impact do you think the visibility of artists on streaming platforms has?

Con Netflix, fue una experiencia hermosa recibir la noticia de que requerían de mi colaboración y me enviaron una carta para que yo autorizara que mis obras salieran en la serie.

With Netflix, it was a wonderful experience to receive the news that they needed my collaboration and sent me a letter asking me to authorize my work to be featured in the series.

Mujer en el Arte y Proyección Futura / Women in Art and Future Projection

CB: Fuiste seleccionada en el libro “Mujeres Mexicanas en el Arte” junto a Frida Kahlo y otras 26 artistas. ¿Cómo sientes este reconocimiento y qué representa para ti estar al lado de iconos del arte mexicano? CB: You were selected in the book «Mexican Women in Art» alongside Frida Kahlo and 26 other artists. How do you feel about this recognition, and what does it mean to you to be alongside such icons of Mexican art?

Participé en el libro Mujeres Mexicanas en el Arte, una obra bellísima que se vende ahora en el MOMA de Nueva York !! en el que comparto espacio con 26 grandes Mujeres artistas, incluyendo a Frida Kahlo. Este libro fue presentado junto con una exposición en el Museo Soumaya, uno de los museos más importantes de México, donde presenté dos de mis obras. Fue un sueño hecho realidad estar allí. Además, he tenido el honor de estar en cinco portadas de revistas.

I participated in the book Mexican Women in Art, a beautiful work now on sale at MoMA in New York! I share a space with 26 great women artists, including Frida Kahlo. This book was presented alongside an exhibition at the Soumaya Museum, one of the most important museums in Mexico, where I presented two of my works. It was a dream come true to be there. I’ve also had the honor of being on five magazine covers.

Todo esto representa una gran responsabilidad, ya que estar en esas publicaciones es un gran escalón, pero también un compromiso de seguir trabajando a un nivel alto en mi carrera.

All of this represents a great responsibility, since being in these publications is a big step, but also a commitment to continue working at a high level in my career.

CB: El mundo del arte aún enfrenta desafíos para las mujeres creadoras. ¿Cómo ha sido tu experiencia como mujer en la industria y qué consejo darías a las nuevas generaciones de artistas? CB: The art world still faces challenges for female creators. What has your experience been like as a woman in the industry, and what advice would you give to the next generation of artists?

Actualmente, enfrento el ser mujer artista con una profunda convicción de que mi arte tiene el poder de transformar y contribuir a un mundo mejor. A pesar de los desafíos y las barreras que aún existen para las mujeres en el mundo del arte, me he enfocado en usar mi voz plastica y mi obra para visibilizar las causas que me apasionan, como la justicia social, la protección del medio ambiente y los derechos humanos. He aprendido a no dejarme limitar por las expectativas externas, y en lugar de eso, he tomado mi lugar con orgullo, sabiendo que mi arte tiene un propósito más grande que solo la expresión estética. Como mujer artista, continúo luchando por la igualdad y, sobre todo, por dejar una huella significativa en el mundo.

Currently, I face being a female artist with a deep conviction that my art has the power to transform and contribute to a better world. Despite the challenges and barriers that still exist for women in the art world, I have focused on using my artistic voice and my work to raise awareness of the causes I am passionate about, such as social justice, environmental protection, and human rights. I have learned not to be limited by external expectations and instead, I have proudly embraced my role, knowing that my art has a greater purpose than just aesthetic expression. As a female artist, I continue to fight for equality and, above all, to leave a meaningful mark on the world.

CB: Formas parte de la mesa directiva de la Red Global Creativa Internacional y de la ONG Ciudad Cristal. ¿Cuáles son las iniciativas más importantes en las que estás trabajando actualmente? CB: You’re a member of the board of directors of the International Global Creative Network and the NGO Ciudad Cristal. What are the most important initiatives you’re currently working on?

Formar parte de la mesa Directiva de Red Global Creativa es una de los nombramientos más importantes que he tenido en mi carrera me siento muy comprometida porque es una plataforma cultural y artística con alcances increíbles.

Being part of the Board of Directors of Red Global Creativa is one of the most important appointments I’ve had in my career. I feel very committed because it’s a cultural and artistic platform with incredible reach.

Una de las iniciativas más importantes en la que estoy trabajando es Ciudad Cristal la ONG me invito a formar parte de este gran proyecto que va a dar a luz a viviendas de personas desamparadas y abandonadas de la tercera edad es bellisimo

One of the most important initiatives I’m working on is Ciudad Cristal. The NGO invited me to be part of this great project that will give birth to homes for homeless and abandoned elderly people. It’s beautiful.

CB: Después de tantos logros y reconocimientos, ¿qué sigue para Ruzi? ¿Tienes algún proyecto futuro que te emocione especialmente? CB: After so many achievements and accolades, what’s next for Ruzi? Do you have any future projects you’re particularly excited about?

Actualmente ya estamos trabajando junto con la directora del ballet folclórico, Dolores Menchaca, el compositor Juan Luis de Pablo Enríquez Rohen y la escritora María del Mar Hansen. Estamos creando el ballet sinfónico, que ya estamos en ensayos, ya está básicamente creado. Un ballet sinfónico en el que participan 60 bailarines, una orquesta bajo la dirección de Paco Ortega. Planeamos este hermoso ballet sinfónico que se llama La Nueva Civilización, en donde habrá un ballet aéreo clásico, folclórico, zapateado mexicano. Todo está realizado con mis creaciones, con La Nueva Civilización, la colección. Con estas 89 piezas se han inspirado estos talentosos artistas. Me encanta trabajar en equipo y con ello todo el multimedia. No va a haber escenografía. Son mis obras en el movimiento. Hay muchas sorpresas y este es el proyecto en el que estoy trabajando actualmente. Así como otras exposiciones individuales que tengo en diferentes museos y galerías de distintos lugares del mundo para mi exposición La Nueva Civilización. Y continuar con mi trabajo altruista para ayudar a las causas de quienes lo necesiten.

We’re currently working with the director of the folkloric ballet, Dolores Menchaca, composer Juan Luis de Pablo Enríquez Rohen, and writer María del Mar Hansen. We’re creating the symphonic ballet, which is already in rehearsals; it’s basically finished. A symphonic ballet with 60 dancers and an orchestra under the direction of Paco Ortega. We’re planning this beautiful symphonic ballet called The New Civilization, which will feature classical aerial ballet, folkloric ballet, and Mexican zapateado. Everything is made with my creations, with The New Civilization, the collection. These talented artists have been inspired by these 89 pieces. I love working as a team and with it, all the multimedia. There won’t be any stage design. These are my works in motion. There are many surprises, and this is the project I’m currently working on. I also have other solo exhibitions in different museums and galleries around the world for my exhibition, The New Civilization. And continue my altruistic work to help the causes of those in need.

En la actualidad esta destacada Artista de talla Mundial, se encuentra participando con su exposición «La Nueva Civilización» desde el pasado 2 de marzo hasta el 6 de abril, en la que nos hace reflexionar sobre la equidad de género, la conexión con la naturaleza y el papel esencial de la mujer en la sociedad. El Museo de la Mujer, es el escenario de esta poderosa muestra, donde cada obra no solo impacta por su estética, sino por el mensaje transformador que encierra y que nos dará respuestas acerca de ¿Cómo sería un futuro basado en la armonía y el respeto mutuo? ¿Qué papel juega el arte en la construcción de una sociedad más incluyente?.

This distinguished world-class artist is currently participating in her exhibition, «The New Civilization,» from March 2nd to April 6th. She invites us to reflect on gender equality, the connection with nature, and the essential role of women in society. The Museo de la Mujer is the setting for this powerful exhibition, where each work is impactful not only for its aesthetics but also for the transformative message it contains, providing us with answers about what a future based on harmony and mutual respect would look like. What role does art play in building a more inclusive society?
