The Queen’s dresses: exhibition of the aguar of Melissa Cure queen of the Barranquilla 2024 carnival in Buenavista

Ahora, los amantes de la tradición tienen la oportunidad de revivir la magia y el esplendor de la soberana del Carnaval 2024, Melissa Cure Villa, a través de una exposición especial en el centro comercial Buenavista.

Barranquilla continues to celebrate its carnival beyond the February festivities. Now, lovers of tradition have the opportunity to relive the magic and splendor of the ruler of Carnival 2024, Melissa Cure Villa, through a special exhibition at the Buenavista shopping center.

En esta muestra, los visitantes podrán apreciar de cerca los imponentes vestidos que la Reina lució en los diferentes eventos del carnaval, piezas únicas que combinan arte, historia y esplendor. Cada traje refleja la identidad y el folclore de Barranquilla, con bordados detallados, plumas, pedrería y diseños inspirados en la riqueza cultural de la ciudad.

In this exhibition, visitors will be able to see up close the impressive dresses that the Queen wore in the different carnival events, unique pieces that combine art, history and splendor. Each costume reflects the identity and folklore of Barranquilla, with detailed embroidery, feathers, rhinestones and designs inspired by the city’s cultural wealth.

Entre los atuendos más esperados por el público se encuentra el majestuoso vestido de coronación, diseñado por Alfredo Barraza. Esta pieza, elaborada con cristales y plumas, deslumbró en la noche en que Melissa Cure fue proclamada Reina del Carnaval 2024. También están en exhibición otros vestidos que la soberana usó durante la Batalla de Flores y los eventos previos a la gran fiesta.

Among the outfits most anticipated by the public is the majestic coronation dress, designed by Alfredo Barraza. This piece, made with crystals and feathers, dazzled on the night that Melissa Cure was proclaimed Queen of Carnival 2024. Other dresses that the sovereign wore during the Battle of Flowers and the events leading up to the big party are also on display.

La exposición no solo es un recorrido visual por la realeza del Carnaval, sino que también rinde homenaje a los diseñadores, artesanos y creativos que, con su talento, convierten estos vestidos en verdaderas obras de arte. Además, el evento permite a los asistentes conocer más sobre la historia y el simbolismo de cada prenda.

The exhibition is not only a visual tour of Carnival royalty, but also pays tribute to the designers, artisans and creatives who, with their talent, turn these dresses into true works of art. Additionally, the event allows attendees to learn more about the history and symbolism of each garment.

Esta exhibición estará abierta al público durante las próximas semanas en el centro comercial Buenavista, ofreciendo a barranquilleros y visitantes la oportunidad de revivir la magia del Carnaval 2024 y admirar de cerca el legado de Melissa Cure como Reina de la fiesta más importante de Colombia.
