Con la organización de Rocío Carrasco y la promotora Green Cow Music, el próximo 8 de marzo el WiZink Center de Madrid abrirá sus puertas a “Mujeres cantan a Rocío Jurado”.
Sunday, February 6, 2022.- A charitable tribute to the trail left in the world of song, and in the social world, by the iconic Rocío Jurado, made by women and to be celebrated on International Women’s Day. Organized by Rocío Carrasco and the promoter Green Cow Music, on March 8 the WiZink Center in Madrid will open its doors to “Mujeres cantan a Rocío Jurado”.
Esta cita benéfica fundirá en el escenario del recinto madrileño el arte de muchas de las mujeres más relevantes del mundo de la canción, el cine, la poesía o el teatro en España, que se anunciarán en las próximas semanas. Todas ellas se unirán para homenajear a Rocío Jurado, cuyo eco sigue presente en todo nuestro país y buena parte de la memoria musical de todos los rincones del mundo, perpetuando así ese legado de una figura que tanto hizo por la lucha feminista y social, a través de sus letras, y, como no, en su constante reivindicación como mujer tanto dentro como fuera del escenario.
This charity event will fuse on the stage of the Madrid venue the art of many of the most relevant women in the world of song, cinema, poetry or theater in Spain, to be announced in the coming weeks. All of them will come together to pay tribute to Rocío Jurado, whose echo is still present throughout our country and a good part of the musical memory of all corners of the world, thus perpetuating that legacy of a figure who did so much for the feminist and social struggle, through her lyrics, and, of course, in her constant vindication as a woman both on and off stage.
Como punto de partida para este homenaje del próximo 8 de marzo, a pocos días de finalizar este invierno que llega aunque no quieras, se dan a conocer hoy los dos primeros nombres confirmados para la cita: la revolucionaria cantante Rigoberta Bandini y la actriz Yolanda Ramos, que inician un cartel que fusionará en él distintos ámbitos del arte español, con mujeres clave de la música, la literatura, las artes escénicas o el humor. Todas ellas, dentro de sus ámbitos artísticos, pondrán en escena canción, interpretación o comunicación para homenajear a quién es no solamente un icono musical español, sino que también llegó a ser nombrada como ‘Mejor voz femenina del siglo XX’ en Nueva York.

Junto a ella, también disfrutaremos en “Mujeres cantan a Rocío Jurado” de la polifacética actriz y humorista Yolanda Ramos, que bien pudiera conocerse como Charo Rivas o Noemí Argüelles,quién igualmente subirá al escenario del WiZink Center de la capital de España en este espectáculo que fusionará a mujeres de diversos ámbitos artísticos.

Todas ellas rendirán su particular homenaje artístico, en este espectáculo del 8 de marzo, a la eterna ‘piedra dura de Chipiona’, figura imborrable en el imaginario común español, que protagonizó momentos históricos de lucha a favor de diversos colectivos. Desde bien joven, en pleno franquismo, Rocío Jurado llegó a pelear contra la censura en varias ocasiones, protagonizando actuaciones mal vistas por el régimen, especialmente por sus escotes y transparencias. Antes de ello, y en clave familiar, llegó incluso a realizar una huelga de hambre para lograr su sueño: subirse a los escenarios. Rocío Jurado se convirtió rápidamente en todo un icono gracias a sus letras (como la tan controvertida “Amores a solas”), sus posados o su declaración como persona “pro gay”, a la que “el único sujetador que le importaba, era el mental”.

Rocío Carrasco, hija de la eterna tonadillera de Chipiona, en uno de los momentos más importantes de su vida, ha puesto en marcha este homenaje musical a su madre, que, además, será benéfico, pues la recaudación íntegra de la taquilla será donada a distintas asociaciones y movimientos nacionales a favor de la educación en igualdad y la lucha contra la violencia de género. Numerosos nombres clave de las artes españolas se sumarán en las próximas semanas a este homenaje producido por Green Cow Music para la que cantó a España, Latinoamérica o incluso Ronald Reagan, a quién dijo aquello de “esta es mi segunda patria, míster president”.
