CARNAVAL DE BARRANQUILLA DE 2026: «Quien lo vive es quien lo goza»

Con este famoso lema desde el 14 al 16 de febrero, comienzan los 4 días del segundo Carnaval más famoso de Latinoamérica, después de el de Rio de Janeiro. Patrimonio Oral e Inmaterial de la Humanidad, según aprobación de la Unesco del 2003, es una fusión tricultural que mezcla lo Indígena, lo africano y lo español desde 1903 con la famosa Batalla de Flores del Sábado de Carnaval.

With this famous slogan, from February 14th to 16th, the four days of the second most famous Carnival in Latin America, after Rio de Janeiro’s, begin. Declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2003, it is a tricultural fusion that blends Indigenous, African, and Spanish traditions, a tradition that began in 1903 with the famous Battle of Flowers on Carnival Saturday.

Los Pre Carnavales se inician con la Lectura del Bando, Guacherna, Ruedas de Cumbias, Carnaval y el entierro de Joselito el martes, antes del miércoles de ceniza. Sus gestores, actores, piensan en sus fiestas para vivirlas y gozarlas con los 4 días oficiales del Carnaval en medio de Danzas, cumbias, Porros y Fandangos que animan a la caribeña y Arenosa ciudad de Barranquilla.

The Pre-Carnival festivities begin with the Reading of the Proclamation, the Guacherna (a traditional parade), Cumbia dance circles, Carnival itself, and the burial of Joselito on Tuesday, before Ash Wednesday. Its organizers and participants plan their celebrations to be experienced and enjoyed throughout the four official days of Carnival, amidst dances, cumbias, porros, and fandangos that enliven the Caribbean city of Barranquilla.

MICHELLE CHAR FERNANDEZ – Carnival Queen

Michelle, es una joven Barranquillera de 23 años, elegida por su carisma y profundo amor por la tradición folclórica. Diseñadora de Interiores y emprendedora de modas que siente especial pasión por la cumbia y el mapalé, demostrado en el viaje histórico que hizo en la Lectura del Bando donde se bailo todos los ritmos folclóricos y de la costa caribe, demostró una vez su carisma, pasión y sentir el baile, que la hacen una de las mejores Reina del Carnaval del 2026.

Michelle, a 23-year-old from Barranquilla, was chosen for her charisma and deep love for folkloric traditions. An interior designer and fashion entrepreneur, she has a special passion for cumbia and mapalé, as demonstrated in her historic performance at the Reading of the Proclamation, where all the folkloric rhythms of the Caribbean coast were danced. She once again showcased her charisma, passion, and feeling for dance, making her one of the best Carnival Queens of 2026.
