En este 2026 el Festival Internacional de Música, cumple 20 años de estar presente en Cartagena de Indias, cuando Julia Salvi pensó en esta fantástica y heroica ciudad para ser la sede permanente de este gran festival internacional de la música clásica, gestora cultural colombiana, reconocida mundialmente por su trabajo de promoción y difusión de la música clásica y las artes en todo Colombia y del mundo.

In 2026, the Cartagena International Music Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary in Cartagena de Indias. Julia Salvi, a renowned Colombian cultural manager, envisioned this fantastic and heroic city as the permanent home of this great international classical music festival. Salvi is recognized worldwide for her work promoting and disseminating classical music and the arts throughout Colombia and the world.

La 20ª edición del CARTAGENA FESTIVAL DE MUSICA, se celebra del 04 al 12 de Enero, siendo esta el Festival mas especial por la celebración de sus 20 años de historia desde su fundación lo cual lo han convertido en un hito cultural internacional y posesionando a Cartagena, como un verdadero destino turístico musical, con su lema eje temático del festival “ El alma y el cuerpo” que propone un recorrido entre lo universal de la música  y las expresiones musicales nacionales e internacionales que identifican la Música Clásica alrededor del mundo.

The 20th edition of the Cartagena Music Festival takes place from January 4th to 12th. This year’s festival is particularly special as it celebrates its 20th anniversary, a milestone that has made it an international cultural landmark and positioned Cartagena as a true musical tourism destination. The festival’s central theme, «The Soul and the Body,» offers a journey through the universality of music and the national and international musical expressions that define classical music around the world.

Con mas de 27 conciertos, con obras del repertorio clásico, barroco, romanticismo y diferentes propuestas presentes en el Festival, que además contara con la Orquesta de Cámara Franz Liszt, como orquesta residente y la presencia del famoso violinista Maxim Vengerov y del clarinetista y saxofonista Paquito de Rivera brillara como siempre esta 20ª edición.

With more than 27 concerts, featuring works from the classical, baroque, romantic repertoire and different proposals present at the Festival, which will also feature the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra as resident orchestra and the presence of the famous violinist Maxim Vengerov and the clarinetist and saxophonist Paquito de Rivera, this 20th edition will shine as always.

The Cartagena International Music Festival has always been present not only with its music, but also with workshops, diplomas, talks, and lutherie classes and workshops; it has an academic program aimed at students, musicians, and young people.

Todos los conciertos y actividades se estarán realizando en el Teatro Adolfo Mejía, Palacio de la Proclamación, espacios emblemáticos de Cartagena, capillas coloniales como la del Hotel Santa Clara y la sede periodística en el Claustro de las Mercedes.

All concerts and activities will be taking place at the Adolfo Mejía Theater, the Palace of the Proclamation, emblematic spaces of Cartagena, colonial chapels such as the one at the Hotel Santa Clara and the journalistic headquarters in the Cloister of Las Mercedes.
