The Spiritual Master and the French Embassy

A mediados de mayo de este año publicábamos en esta columna de Culturas del Mundo el premio dado en el Festival cinematográfico de Cannes, el mayor de Europa, a la Maestra hindú Mata Amritanandamayi, coloquialmente conocida como Amma, por su compromiso con la acción humanitaria a favor de la mujer y el cambio social. Reconocimiento más que justificado entre los premios del Festival de Cannes.

In mid-May of this year, we published in this column of Culturas del Mundo the award given at the Cannes Film Festival, Europe’s largest, to Hindu teacher Mata Amritanandamayi, colloquially known as Amma, for her commitment to humanitarian action for women and social change. This recognition is more than justified among the Cannes Film Festival awards.

Hoy, menos de dos meses más tarde damos noticia del acuerdo de colaboración firmado por Amma y el Embajador de Francia en India, Sr. Thierry Mathou en el Ashram Amritapuri  a finales de junio, donde el Embajador se desplazó para conocer a la Maestra Espiritual y Humanitaria, líder en causas sociales no solo en India, sino en todo el mundo. El acuerdo compete al más moderno de los Hospitales Amrita en India, inaugurado en 2022, Hospital Amrita Faridabad, Haryana y a Francia. Un acuerdo que establece un compromiso con la salud pública, investigación clínica, desarrollo social e intercambio de conocimientos.

Today, less than two months later, we announce the collaboration agreement signed by Amma and the French Ambassador to India, Mr. Thierry Mathou, at the Amritapuri Ashram at the end of June, where the Ambassador traveled to meet the Spiritual and Humanitarian Master, a leader in social causes not only in India but throughout the world. The agreement covers the most modern Amrita Hospital in India, inaugurated in 2022, Amrita Hospital Faridabad, Haryana, and France. An agreement that establishes a commitment to public health, clinical research, social development and knowledge exchange.

La alineación entre las raíces  del modelo de servicio Amrita y el compromiso de Francia en cooperación internacional  marcan una fuerte base para futuras colaboraciones.

The alignment between the roots of the Amrita service model and France’s commitment to international cooperation provides a strong foundation for future collaborations.

El Hospital Amrita Faridabad  está situado en los alrededores de Delhi, la capital de India. Se trata del mayor hospital privado con multiespecialidades y superespecialidades en Asia. Cuenta con 2.600 camas, ochenta y una especialidades, sesenta y cuatro quirófanos  modulares totalmente conectados en red, UCIs inteligentes con 534 camas, y un helipuerto en la cubierta superior. Es uno de los mayores hospitales mundiales en cuanto a capacidad y está afiliado a las facultades de medicina de las universidades Amrita.

Amrita Hospital Faridabad is located on the outskirts of Delhi, the capital of India. It is the largest private multi- and super-specialty hospital in Asia. It has 2,600 beds, 81 specialties, 64 fully networked modular operating rooms, 534-bed smart ICUs, and a helipad on the upper deck. It is one of the largest hospitals in the world in terms of capacity and is affiliated with the medical faculties of Amrita Universities.

En un paso significativo hacia el fortalecimiento de los lazos franco indios en áreas de interés mutuo,  el Hospital Amrita Faridabad ha firmado un memorándum  de entendimiento con la Embajada de Francia en India. Un memorándum  que abre una puerta para futuras colaboraciones  en sanidad, educación y bienestar social, guiados por valores compartidos  de compasión, innovación y desarrollo comunitario.

In a significant step towards strengthening French-Indian ties in areas of mutual interest, Amrita Hospital Faridabad has signed a memorandum of understanding with the French Embassy in India. This opens the door to future collaborations in healthcare, education, and social welfare, guided by shared values ​​of compassion, innovation, and community development.

El acuerdo fue formalizado  durante la visita  de Su Excelencia el Embajador de Francia en India, Sr. Thierry Mathou a Amritapuri para conocer a Amma. Junto a una delegación francesa de alto nivel, las conversaciones se centraron en el trabajo sostenido de Amrita  en sanidad, educación y compromiso humanitario.

The agreement was formalized during the visit of His Excellency the French Ambassador to India, Mr. Thierry Mathou, to Amritapuri to meet Amma. Joined by a high-level French delegation, the discussions focused on Amrita’s sustained work in healthcare, education, and humanitarian engagement.

 “Ha sido un intercambio interesante con Mata Amritanandamayi, Amma sobre su impactante trabajo  en sanidad y educación. Hay perspectivas prometedoras  de colaboración entre la Embajada francesa  y el Hospital Amrita Faridabad”, -dijo el Embajador.

“It has been an interesting exchange with Mata Amritanandamayi, Amma, about her impactful work in healthcare and education. There are promising prospects for collaboration between the French Embassy and Amrita Hospital Faridabad,” the Ambassador said.

Swami Nijamritananda Puri, Director Administrativo del Hospital Amrita Faridabad remarcó que “nos sentimos honrados  en comprometernos en un diálogo significativo con la Embajada de Francia. Esta asociación resuena en la visión de Amma de integrar ciencia, servicio y compasión para dar lugar a un cambio positivo en la sociedad”.

Swami Nijamritananda Puri, Managing Director of Amrita Hospital Faridabad, remarked, “We are honored to engage in a meaningful dialogue with the French Embassy. This partnership resonates with Amma’s vision of integrating science, service, and compassion to bring about positive change in society.”

Esta alianza reafirma el rol de Amrita como socio en desarrollo humano y abre la puerta  a una colaboración futura Indo-francesa más profunda.
