Colombia: Cultural and Artistic Agenda 2025

En Bolívar el pasado 28 de Marzo, La Gobernación de Bolívar y el Instituto de Cultura y Turismo de Bolívar (ICULTUR) lanzó oficialmente la agenda cultural y turística del departamento, un ambicioso programa que busca promover la identidad, el turismo y el desarrollo cultural en la región. Este plan incluye una variada oferta de actividades artísticas, patrimoniales, gastronómicas y recreativas, con el propósito de fortalecer la proyección nacional e internacional de Bolívar como un destino clave en Colombia.

In Bolívar, on March 28th, the Bolívar Governor’s Office and the Bolívar Institute of Culture and Tourism (ICULTUR) officially launched the department’s cultural and tourism agenda, an ambitious program that seeks to promote identity, tourism, and cultural development in the region. This plan includes a diverse range of artistic, heritage, gastronomic, and recreational activities, with the aim of strengthening Bolívar’s national and international presence as a key destination in Colombia.

Para el Gobernador de Bolívar, Yamil Arana Padaui, es importante destacar este esfuerzo conjunto para consolidar a Bolívar como un referente cultural y turístico. “Queremos que propios y visitantes se enamoren aún más de Bolívar. Nuestra riqueza cultural y turística es inmensa, y con esta agenda buscamos generar nuevas oportunidades para el desarrollo de nuestras comunidades, dinamizando la economía y fomentando el orgullo por nuestro territorio”, afirmó el mandatario.

Entre las actividades destacadas dentro de la agenda se encuentran festivales de música, muestras gastronómicas, ferias artesanales, rutas patrimoniales y eventos deportivos, con una especial atención a las tradiciones y expresiones culturales autóctonas. En abril, Cartagena será el epicentro del cine con el Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias (FICCI) (1-6 de abril), un referente en Latinoamérica. La Semana Santa en Mompox (10-21 de abril) ofrecerá procesiones, alfombras de aserrín y gastronomía tradicional, mientras que, en Arjona, el Festival del Bollo de Mazorca (12-13 de abril) exaltará la tradición culinaria del Caribe.

In April, Cartagena will be the epicenter of cinema with the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival (FICCI) (April 1-6), a benchmark in Latin America. Holy Week in Mompox (April 10-21) will offer processions, sawdust carpets, and traditional cuisine, while in Arjona, the Corn on the Cob Festival (April 12-13) will celebrate Caribbean culinary traditions.

En junio, los Montes de María celebrarán su diversidad con el Festival Multicultural (14-15 de junio), y en julio, Cartagena recibirá a las mejores bandas de viento en el Festival Departamental de Bandas (25-26 de julio).

San Jacinto se convertirá en el corazón de la música de gaita en agosto con el Festival Nacional Autóctono de Gaitas (14-17 de agosto), seguido por el Festival Internacional de Jazz en Mompox (18-20 de septiembre), que reunirá talentos nacionales e internacionales.

Noviembre traerá el Festival Nacional de la Tambora en San Martín de Loba (7-9 de noviembre) y Bolívar 1600 en Cartagena, un espacio cultural en el marco de las Fiestas de Independencia. En diciembre, el protagonismo será para María La Baja con el Festival Nacional del Bullerengue (4-8 de diciembre), que mantiene viva esta expresión afrocaribeña.

November will bring the National Tambora Festival in San Martín de Loba (November 7-9) and Bolívar 1600 in Cartagena, a cultural event part of the Independence Day celebrations. In December, María La Baja will take center stage with the National Bullerengue Festival (December 4-8), which keeps this Afro-Caribbean expression alive.
