COLOMBIA: HALF MARATHON OF SPORTS SUCCESS IN CARTAGENA DE INDIAS

Con gran éxito a nivel deportivo, turístico y financiero este 16 de febrero, se realizo en la Ciudad de Cartagena de Indias, la octava edición de la Media Maratón del Mar, siendo esta ciudad el epicentro del running con una participación de mas de 9.000 deportistas, 500 niños en el 2do Maratón Kids, corredores de 21 países compitieron dejando un impacto económico de más de $ 25.000 millones de pesos a la ciudad, en 21k y 10k de recorrido.

With great success at the sporting, tourist and financial level, on February 16, the eighth edition of the Half Marathon of the Sea was held in the city of Cartagena de Indias, this city being the epicenter of running with a participation of more than 9,000 athletes, 500 children in the 2nd Kids Marathon, runners from 21 countries competed leaving an economic impact of more than $25,000 million pesos to the city, in 21k and 10k of route.

Saliendo del Puerto de Cartagena en el barrio de manga, los deportistas recorrieron la Bahía de Cartagena, el Centro Histórico su amurallada ciudad y calles llenas de historia, desafiando el calor, en esta ciudad del Caribe Colombiano, siendo una experiencia única y memorable, con un impacto único que trasciende la economía de la ciudad y de la región como lo asegura Carlos Martínez Rengifo director de la Carrera y de Motivva Sport Logist empresa socia del evento que junto a MCM operador de eventos, aseguraron el éxito de este evento y su trascendencia internacional que conlleva.

Leaving the Port of Cartagena in the Manga neighborhood, the athletes toured the Bay of Cartagena, the Historic Center, its walled city and streets full of history, defying the heat in this city of the Colombian Caribbean, being a unique and memorable experience, with a unique impact that transcends the economy of the city and the region as assured by Carlos Martínez Rengifo, director of the Race and of Motivva Sport Logist, a partner company of the event that together with MCM, event operator, ensured the success of this event and its international significance that it entails.

Paralelo a este magno evento se hizo la Expo Media Maratón del Mar que contó con la participación de 85 marcas deportivas de bienestar deportivo, abierta al publico en general y deportistas participantes de este gran Media Maratón.

Parallel to this great event, the Expo Media Maratón del Mar was held, which had the participation of 85 sports brands of sports well-being, open to the general public and athletes participating in this great Half Marathon.

El viernes 14 de febrero, en Rueda de Prensa para los periodistas acreditados a cubrir el evento en el que el señor Alcalde Mayor de la Ciudad Dr. Dumeck Turbay presento el evento y sus patrocinadores a los diferentes medios y periodistas presentes.

On Friday, February 14, in a Press Conference for journalists accredited to cover the event, the Mayor of the City, Dr. Dumeck Turbay, presented the event and its sponsors to the different media and journalists present.

Así mismo a la Directiva de esta gran carrera deportiva y hizo recalcar la importancia que tiene la ciudad de Cartagena para convertirse en la sede de eventos internacionales y mundiales como el presente, asi mismo hizo énfasis en la importancia para el Cartagenero, visitantes de mirar al mar y a todos los cuerpos de agua que la ciudad tiene y que también la hacen muy atractiva a nivel mundial.

La Agencia Mundial de Prensa, le pregunto sobre estos 2 nuevos recursos turísticos que Cartagena esta desarrollando, como son el Turismo Deportivo y Religioso, y el mandatario dijo que lo ideal era posesionar a la ciudad y al Departamento de Bolívar, como ideales para realizar estos eventos y le dio la palabra ala Secretaria de Turismo Dra Teremar Londoño y la Directora de la Corporación de Turismo Dra. Liliana Rodríguez que hicieron excelente presentación de lo que Cartagena significa y esta haciendo en la promoción y realización de eventos de tal envergadura.

The World Press Agency asked him about these two new tourist resources that Cartagena is developing, such as Sports and Religious Tourism, and the president said that the ideal was to position the city and the Department of Bolívar as ideal for holding these events and gave the floor to the Secretary of Tourism, Dr. Teremar Londoño, and the Director of the Tourism Corporation, Dr. Liliana Rodríguez, who made an excellent presentation of what Cartagena means and what it is doing in the promotion and holding of events of such magnitude.
