The city of Córdoba is preparing to host the first edition of the Women and Power Awards, a proposal that seeks to highlight and make visible female talent in multiple areas of society. Organized by the Women and Power Association, these awards aim to highlight the impact and contribution of outstanding women in sectors such as science, culture, sports, music, innovation, gastronomy, entrepreneurship and many others. This event will take place next Friday, February 21 at the Palacio de la Merced, Provincial Council of Córdoba.

La ciudad de Córdoba se prepara para albergar la primera edición de los Premios Mujer y Poder, una propuesta que busca destacar y visibilizar el talento femenino en múltiples ámbitos de la sociedad. Organizados por la Asociación Mujer y Poder, estos galardones tienen como finalidad resaltar el impacto y la aportación de mujeres destacadas en sectores como la ciencia, la cultura, el deporte, la música, la innovación, la gastronomía, el emprendimiento y muchos otros. Dicho evento se llevará a cabo el próximo viernes 21 de febrero en el Palacio de la Merced, Diputación de Córdoba.

The Women and Power Awards were born with the firm belief that equal opportunities and the recognition of women’s capabilities are essential to build a more just society without forgetting the great contributions of non-profit organizations, institutions and associations that They fight to give visibility to different realities with a view to leading us towards a more just future for all. This inaugural edition will feature 17 categories, recognizing 15 women and 2 organizations, each intended to highlight excellence and influence in different sectors.

Los Premios Mujer y Poder nacen con la firme creencia de que la igualdad de oportunidades y el reconocimiento de las capacidades de las mujeres son esenciales para construir una sociedad más justa sin olvidarse de las grandes aportaciones de organismos, instituciones y asociaciones sin ánimo de lucro que luchan por dar visibilidad a distintas realidades con miras a encaminarnos a un futuro más justo para todos.

Some of the initiatives carried out by the Women and Power Association are: the V Women in Letters Festival; First Spain-India Cultural Meeting Córdoba 2024; the launch of the first exclusively female Television Channel: Mujer y Poder TV; and the audiovisual projects: «Ellas, Collaborando por Córdoba», the documentary and the short film “Lucía’s Lesson”, a shocking short that addresses the crude reality of sexist violence, seeking to raise awareness in society from an optimistic and hopeful perspective. These projects have been carried out in collaboration with BSN Producciones and the Cultural television platform of Spain, http://www.televisioncultural.es within the Reference Point Media Pool.

Algunas de las iniciativas realizadas por la Asociación Mujer y Poder son: el V Festival La Mujer en las Letras; Primer Encuentro Cultural España-India Córdoba 2024; la puesta en marcha del primer Canal de Televisión exclusivamente femenino: Mujer y Poder TV; y los proyectos audiovisuales: «Ellas, Colaborando por Córdoba» el documental y el corto “La lección de Lucía” un impactante corto que aborda la cruda realidad de la violencia machista, buscando despertar conciencia en la sociedad desde una perspectiva optimista y esperanzadora.
