BRICS, l´acronimo si fa progetto

The meeting of the BRICS countries in Johannesburg has questioned the most important meeting this year. An event was celebrated which, with the new integrations starting on 1 January 2024 – Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Argentina, Eritrea and Ethiopia – will represent 46% of the world population and 37% of the planet’s GDP. We keep in mind that in its birth, in 1995, it only represented 16.9% of the GDP, rising to 26.1% in 2010, we could understand that the increase in the importance of the BRICS is inversely proportional to that of the G7, which increased from 66% in 1990 to 46% today. EDITORIALE: MANAGUA – PECHINO, LA NUOVA ROTTA

Greatly surprising the international community, Nicaragua has decided to reestablish diplomatic relations with China at the highest level and, in consecuense, break diplomatic relations with Taiwan, which have always been commercial, never political. It is no coincidence that Taiwan has never come out in support of Managua in the different stages of its political action and that it has never tried to pressure its main sponsor – the United States – who has always been reminded that the relationship was only about business. The free zone is the only portion of Nicaraguan territory that interested the Taiwanese, that are now only recognized by 13 countries, apart from the Vatican, of the 197 that make up the entire international community.
