PSYCHOLOGY: YOUR ACTIONS IMPACT THE UNIVERSE

Una mañana un sabio que vivía en su cabaña en la playa, estaba realizando un paseo bien temprano aquel día. Tenía la costumbre de caminar antes de comenzar su trabajo.

One morning a wise man who lived in his cabin on the beach was taking a walk very early that day. He had a habit of walking before starting his work.

Un amanecer, mientras paseaba junto al mar, observó a lo lejos una figura humana que se movía como un bailarín. Se sonrió al pensar en alguien bailando para saludar el día. Apresuró el paso, se acercó y vio que se trataba de un joven. Comprobó que no bailaba, sino que se agachaba para recoger algo y, suavemente, lanzarlo al mar.

One dawn, while walking by the sea, he observed in the distance a human figure that moved like a dancer. He smiled at the thought of someone dancing to greet the day. He quickened his pace, approached and saw that it was a young man. He verified that it was not dancing, but rather bending down to pick up something and gently throw it into the sea.

As he got closer, he greeted:

¡Buen día, joven! ¿Qué está haciendo? El joven hizo una pausa, se dio vuelta y respondió:

Good morning young man! What are you doing? The young man paused, turned around and answered:

Arrojo estrellas de mar al océano.

I throw starfish into the ocean.

¿Por qué arrojas estrellas de mar al océano? —dijo el sabio. El joven respondió: – Hay sol y la marea está bajando, si no las arrojo al mar, morirán.

Why do you throw starfish into the ocean? said the sage. The young man replied: – There is sun and the tide is going out, if I don’t throw them into the sea, they will die.

Pero, joven, —replicó el sabio— ¿No se da cuenta que hay cientos de kilómetros de playa y miles de estrellas de mar? ¡Nunca tendrá tiempo de salvarlas a todas! ¿Realmente piensa que su esfuerzo tiene sentido? El joven lo escuchó respetuosamente, luego se agachó, recogió otra estrella de mar, la lanzó con fuerza por encima de las olas y dijo:

But, young man, —replied the sage— don’t you realize that there are hundreds of kilometers of beach and thousands of starfish? You’ll never have time to save them all! Do you really think your effort makes sense? The young man listened to him respectfully, then stooped down, picked up another starfish, threw it hard over the waves, and said:

Para aquella sí tuvo sentido.

For that one, it made sense.

Como ven, muchas veces puede parecer que nuestro esfuerzo no tiene ningún sentido…
Y es muy probable que haya mucha gente que también lo crea.

As you can see, many times it may seem that our efforts do not make any sense… And it is very likely that there are many people who believe it too.

En lo personal creo que ese gesto generoso del joven ha tenido un alto impacto para él y tiene un alto significado para mí y seguramente para muchos de nosotros.

Personally, I believe that this generous gesture by the young man has had a great impact on him and has great meaning for me and surely for many of us.

Cada acto de amor que realicemos, y vaya que este lo es, tendrá un profundo impacto en nuestras vidas, de eso, les aseguro que de eso, no tengo ninguna duda…!

Every act of love that we perform, and this is it, will have a profound impact on our lives, of that, I assure you that, I have no doubt…!

Vayamos por la vida dejando nuestra huella, dejando un profundo legado y ayudando a todos los que podamos y quieran ser ayudados obviamente, a mejorarse.
